That said, it's a good interior.
We must have been looking inside different brand/model cars. I saw misfitting headliners, low cost materials, and disappointing seats, even before discussing the overall aesthetic minimalism approach, which was an interesting thought but - to my eyes - simply wound up looking cheap. One doesn't need lots of stuff/"doodads", but what is executed needs to be superb, not a focal point to offset other/battery costs.

Model 3 with current premium package has better material than F30. There is no competiton unless you really like having switch gear, can't stand the clean asthetics. Some people just don't like big touch screen for everything, myself included.

I don't know about G20 though. I hear it is going to be well insulated unlike the F3X which was a step backwards from E90. Hopefully alot less plasticky than F3X

Hey, did anyone here see the news article this past week about BMW laying off 7% of its workforce to build cars cheaper? Particularly the model that has atrocious QC problems already?

Yeah. Me neither.

Musk did paint a realistic picture of going forward, and matches with reality in terms of inventory and US sales. My guess is past Q1 there will be another price cut of $1750 across the board to equalize the loss of $3750 fed credits.

Many thanks to my clear headed coworkers, or else I will be kicking myself getting into a hohum Model 3 while the new G20 is just around the corner.

This job cut may not be mainly for lean running but to gear up for the refinance of $1B corporate bonds due in March 1.

Tesla price needs to be above $359.98 to issue new stock, instead of draining $1B of cash, to refinance.

I'm afraid you're not fully aware of the realities of labor relations in Germany.

German labor probably won't work out for Musk's drive-into-the-ground style.

Local sales folks look exhausted after new year, and layoff news will not be good for morale.

I went to check it out in showroom. Did not see any issues but that is expected for showroom model.

The screen is excellent. The HMI interface is logical and it took me just a few mins to learn the layout without manual or assistance. The screen has instant response. It is awesome.

The seating position is excellent. Materials are fine, not worse than bmw. I had no complaints but we need to see how everything holds up over time.

The car has a good feel. I left wanting to go and drive it. The quality will get better, it's a young company in a war with oil cartel and stealerships. The s/w will continue to evolve.

Oracle CEO invested 1B. EU just green lighted Model 3 and they will sell them like hot cakes over there considering the price of gas and emission reduction madness going on. Paris wants to ban all ice cars. There is also a plan for China factory.

It appears it is a serious competition. No gas stations, great range, low maint, no stealerships, clean minimalistic design ... I am going to test drive it

Europe sales will be critical to Tesla this year, although the numbers may come a bit late to help the March 1 refinance.

Does anyone feel G20 dash is better than Model 3? From the G20 review videos the G20 dash has the right buttons available for easy access, and the digital gauges are slick and functional, right?

Drove next to one to work today. Looks like a travel soap dish/holder thingy.
Where is the flair, aggressiveness, testosterone?
Looks like a gender fluid "I'm a pu*sy don't bully me, you post a bad comment on FB and I'll kill myself" mobile. Yuck.

I tend to agree. The Model 3 relies 100% on the touchscreen, even to pop open the glovebox.

Please let me offer you a bit of automotive history:

Properly aggressive with lots of testosterone:

Soap dish thingy:

You do know what happened to both cars and their successors, right?

Also, there's nothing wrong with gender fluidity.

History will tell if history repeats itself, namely, some Tesla owners believe Model 3 is full of testosterone, and BMW 3-series is same old soap dish thingy!

Garage List
Tesla is a tempting choice, but not in NYC, or not yet, hard to charge the car, if I live in the burbs different story, though I have heard story about significant range drop in winter (not just due to battery also due to heater on etc.). For day to day the range is more than enough, though let's say if I want to take a road trip, then probably need another car, full charge is still too slow.

Hi.

Keep in mind, there is a code of conduct:

https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/an....php?f=650&a=2

See rule #1.

We can all safely assume you wouldn't make your comment above to someone's face as they stepped out of their Model 3 in a parking lot.

Let's try to apply that same conduct here.
