Ya, that seemed strange to me too, and could be the first generation that had LC.
I'd heard that using it on the r35 gtr when it first came out, would actually void your warranty. Just what someone told me, can't confirm this tho.
If this car was my weekend toy and not my daily, I probably would try it, but since I plan to keep it for a few years I'm gonna avoid using it.

Never used it on this one, or my f30 340 with mhd stage 2 and xhp stage 3. I've heard mixed reviews anyways, especially when using LC on a tuned car.

I try not to do anything that I can't continually do, so if I used launch control knowing it increases the wear on the drivetrain drastically, and it yielded a much better result, it would feel pointless to go back launching it normally lol. Sometimes it's best not to know what your missing, but luckily it doesn't seem to be of any great advantage.

This is brief explanation of how it works, it was the previous zf transmissions but I would imagine it's still the same.

One quote that sticks out to me "The characteristic of this mode can be described as "i-don't-care-about-my-clutches-mode". Yes, LC mode makes your transmission wear. Thats the reason, there is an undocumented limit of 50 launches built in to the ZF transmissions. After 50 launches the trans will silently never engage that mode again."
