It'll be interesting to hear your review after some seat time in the new car.
I can already tell you based on the 2 test drives with the m340. The m340 pulls just as hard as the m2 (n55) did. Handling and grip level is not as high in the m340 but it's good enough and it's a lot more comfortable.

I'm expecting specific m340 to handle better than the ones I test drove though since I couldn't find a m340 with the adaptive suspension and non run flats to test drive
Thanks for that. I hope you post pics once you get your car.
I absolutely will!

The official Mineral Grey photo thread is super slow lol

Had a 2018 M2.

Miss it but my 330i fits my long distance commuting need at the moment. Have a GT4 for the weekends....

Not much of a comparison. 3 has so much more room. And handles amazing. But dude, interior didn't even come close. Love the M340

I had an AUDi A7 3.0 quattro. Superb car. Technically it wasn’t my last car as, in a moment of madness, I changed it for a Lexus NX. That damn thing sucked the soul out of me. Whoever invented CVT gearboxes needs shooting. It lasted less than three months and I bought the BMW

Nissan qashqai untill my 330e arrives in the next week or so. In all honesty it isn't a bad car and it's very economical, it just lack power getting from 50-70.

My last cars have been

My car: MINI cooper S
Company Car: Honda civic tourer Sr with body kit upgrade etc.

Current car G20 320i portimao blue / oyster and msport plus.
Current company car skoda superb SE L executive.

All good cars in their own right but the G20 is better than all of them in my view!

My civic was an aquired taste - i called it the Batmobile

My loaner has adaptive LEDs. It is way better than the non adaptives in the F30. There's enough illumination that the turning isn't really even necessary but nice to have. There is a slight delay to the turning of the lights so if changing direction through switchbacks quickly it may be slow to keep up but even if it only pointed straight it would be sufficient.

2017 C43, and I wasn't a fan of it at all. Very much prefer the M340.

Expecting my G20 next week. When I test drove it, it was better than my Q50 in practically every aspect, and the tech just blew it out of the water.

I came from a 2016 Q50 RS also. I have had my 340i xDrive for a few months and am quite happy compared to the Q50. Like most I liked the lease and engine of the Red Sport, but tech, steering and handling left much to be desired. I will say it was good looking and I liked the seats except they weren't cooled but neither are the 340s.

The only "zonks" (as Joe Raiti would say) with the 340 are the aluminum trim that reflects sun, the aforementioned lack of cooled seats and the biggest issue, it's under tired. The standard 225 diameter tires are too narrow for a car with this much power. They have to be the narrowest tires in the class running on 19" wheels. Normally I would replace the RFs with wider AS non RF Michelin's (like I did with Q50), but it's a 24 month lease so not sure if it's worth it. Anybody replace RFs and size up from 225 equipped 340?

Overall BMW did a great job with the 340. It is fast, attractive, and lots of cool tech features.

2018 Audi A4 2.0T, Premium Plus.

Impressed me enough on test drives to pull the trigger, trading in a lovely '14 228i. But I very quickly got bored with the A4. Then I had a couple of small problems which turned into a few bad experiences with the local Audi service dept.

I was set on either a Model3 or a G20 330i but made the mistake of test driving a M340i. That turned out well. ;-)

Zero regrets and very happy to be back in BMW land.

Spot the difference
I went from an F30 330D to the new 330i. I do miss the instant push from the diesel, but the new car is better in just about every other way.

Agree with everything. It's funny you mention it though because this exact issue plagued the Q50 when I originally got it (even though that had 245's all around). Got a flat tire pretty early on (guess runflats are more prone to punctures... go figure) and used that as an excuse to replace all 4 with much stickier tires. Although that solved the grip issues the runflats had, it couldn't solve the steering issues.

Not sure I'll be doing the same with the 340 since I didn't get the spare tire package. At least with the runflats you can drive a bit to a safe location rather than being stuck with a flat and no spare.

I just ordered an M340i (mineral white with cognac interior). Took every option except the shadow line black front grill.

Long story, but coming from 4 different cars in the past year. The most recent was an Audi S5 Sportback that was written off with only 700 miles on it.

My last Bmw was a fully loaded F30 330e Msport in Estroil blue and I still have my 98 E36 M3 which I have had for six years.

Really looking forward to my new G20 330e Msport which is due any day.

My 6th BMW. Last one was a loaded (MSRP >$100k) 2016 640xi GC from unicorn lease situation.(https://www.6post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1350527) Which shows if you have a good CA, great things can happen.

But I do love the new G20. Upgraded interior, great (though still a bit buggy) tech, and that BMW performance that pulled me away from Japanese vehicles for good.

My last one was a 2013 Honda Accord, if they kept everything and improve just the tech in the car today, I would've gotten another. The car is still in the family, just passed down to my brother.

Just picked up the m340i today.

It's such a nice place to be in while cruising on the highway. The HK sound is really good also.

I'll post more about driving impressions after break-in(1200miles)
