This car rattles and squeaks more than my old F30
Such a frustrating experience, I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this but I swear every little bump in the road the front dash rattles and squeaks, squeaking coming from the rear glass, seats always rattling and moving, So frustrating and the dealer never takes these things seriously.. I drove in my dads 2014 Camry and it had a quieter ride... did I just get a bad one out of the bunch or is this what BMW makes now??

What we do have to remember, the higher a suspension frequency we run, the poorer the road surfaces we drive on, the more likely we are to get rattles, shakes and squeaks in the cabins. |

Do you have the adaptive suspension? This was a must for me living in Canada. Standard M suspension is too firm (in my opinion) especially when it gets cold and plastics start to get brittle and rattle. Same thing happened with my S5 (the one with fixed suspension rattled everything in the car...then I got one with the adaptive and everything hushed down).

I'm a few weeks in with my M340i on standard suspension and it's cold here in the Northeast. There is a click somewhere on the passenger side when going over larger bumps that I can't isolate and sometimes a little movement coming from the upper door frame by my left ear. Other than that this car seems way more solid than my F30 340i. When I would get into that car on a cold morning or hot day it would take 10-15 minutes for the incessant clicking from the hard plastics expanding/contracting to stop. Because the suspension is firmer on the M340i I do worry a bit whether the potential for noises to develop in the future is higher.

In short my 330xi is by far the worst car I've ever owned and I've owned BMWs exclusively for 20 years. However there is one bright spot, the typical BMW performance / economy ratio is still amazing. I can't believe this little four banger gets 43 miles per gallon highway and still goes 0 to 60 in about five seconds. Not to mention that it handles like it's on rails. |

I have a really quiet rattle and squeak free 330e so any unwelcome noises would be easy to hear when in electric mode. Are there any quality control issues with cars out of Mexico or the US? I’m on my seventh consecutive BMW with only Connected Drive to disappoint me. |

I found it to be exactly the opposite. I thought that the fixed suspension crashed over potholes and was too jarring over rough roads. The adaptive suspension in comfort was a dream while not being floaty. In sport it gets a bit crashy like the fixed suspension but not as much (I have the M340i though...maybe the 330i or other models are different?).

Made in Mexico 330i. Car is driven on bad roads almost daily. Lots of potholes and non-existent roads. Not a single rattle. Only rattle is when the seatbelts aren’t aligned properly once it is unbuckled (usually in the passenger side). Adjust the buckle and car is silent again. Excellent build quality. And the standard suspension is very comfortable.
