This car rattles and squeaks more than my old F30

Such a frustrating experience, I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this but I swear every little bump in the road the front dash rattles and squeaks, squeaking coming from the rear glass, seats always rattling and moving, So frustrating and the dealer never takes these things seriously.. I drove in my dads 2014 Camry and it had a quieter ride... did I just get a bad one out of the bunch or is this what BMW makes now??

To be honest I have experienced it too from time to time. I tried pushing on the back seats lol, placing the seat belts correctly and it worked lol..

From reading user comments on this forum, I was getting the impression the G20 is much better screwed together than the F3x models.

What we do have to remember, the higher a suspension frequency we run, the poorer the road surfaces we drive on, the more likely we are to get rattles, shakes and squeaks in the cabins.

Do you have the adaptive suspension? This was a must for me living in Canada. Standard M suspension is too firm (in my opinion) especially when it gets cold and plastics start to get brittle and rattle. Same thing happened with my S5 (the one with fixed suspension rattled everything in the car...then I got one with the adaptive and everything hushed down).

Yeah I got the adaptive M suspension.. currently on nice soft 18 inch's, I noticed the winter just hit us hard here and the car is making way more noise than usual, I'll be sitting at a red light doing nothing and the front dash will just be making crackling noises... everyone In the car is like what's that noise?? Makes a 80 grand purchase look kinda poor when the interior won't stop creaking

I'm a few weeks in with my M340i on standard suspension and it's cold here in the Northeast. There is a click somewhere on the passenger side when going over larger bumps that I can't isolate and sometimes a little movement coming from the upper door frame by my left ear. Other than that this car seems way more solid than my F30 340i. When I would get into that car on a cold morning or hot day it would take 10-15 minutes for the incessant clicking from the hard plastics expanding/contracting to stop. Because the suspension is firmer on the M340i I do worry a bit whether the potential for noises to develop in the future is higher.

I get a lot of rattles on somewhat bad pavement. It comes from the left side of the drivers seat. Annoying as hell.

Thankfully , my 330xi is rattle and squeak free. However I do have about a dozen other problems or bugs that haven't been fixed yet. The car has been in the dealership for over two weeks out of the last five months when I bought it. The dealership fixed several problems and the iDrive Updates have fixed about 20+ other problems. Additionally there's a couple other problems that cannot be fixed.

In short my 330xi is by far the worst car I've ever owned and I've owned BMWs exclusively for 20 years. However there is one bright spot, the typical BMW performance / economy ratio is still amazing. I can't believe this little four banger gets 43 miles per gallon highway and still goes 0 to 60 in about five seconds. Not to mention that it handles like it's on rails.

The adaptive m suspension on g20 is awful, in my opinion. I drove m340 with adaptive and passive and the better one is the passive on bulky bad roads.

Where was your car made?

I have a really quiet rattle and squeak free 330e so any unwelcome noises would be easy to hear when in electric mode.

Are there any quality control issues with cars out of Mexico or the US?
I’m on my seventh consecutive BMW with only Connected Drive to disappoint me.

I found it to be exactly the opposite. I thought that the fixed suspension crashed over potholes and was too jarring over rough roads. The adaptive suspension in comfort was a dream while not being floaty. In sport it gets a bit crashy like the fixed suspension but not as much (I have the M340i though...maybe the 330i or other models are different?).

Same here - although slightly reluctant to say this as it may jinx the situation

Actually, the best suspension for comfort is the standard suspension on every non m sport g20. I drove one 320d with standard suspension and its really better than passive m and adaptive m on m sport cars.

Made in Mexico 330i. Car is driven on bad roads almost daily. Lots of potholes and non-existent roads. Not a single rattle. Only rattle is when the seatbelts aren’t aligned properly once it is unbuckled (usually in the passenger side). Adjust the buckle and car is silent again. Excellent build quality. And the standard suspension is very comfortable.

Mine came from Munich, I ordered mine really early, it seemed quiet up until this cold weather hit us in Canada, literally just sounds like a creaking box

The centre console is the worst, it seems like the car can't even take a little bump without having to rattle..
