Live Cockpit Professional
Guys, a question for those of you that have this please.
On the dashboard itself, every picture I see online has the centre section showing a black and white map mirroring the nav map, but, a very poor version of it. Please tell me that this centre section is configurable to show something else other than this horrible map? Thanks....... |

I use this map more than the main centre screen map.
Each to their own I guess. |

Pictures I've seen, is how I would design it and like to use it.
Only key data in the main dash and HUD, like previous designs. Put all the 'detail' in the secondary screen. Keep the driving focus with minimal distraction. I've seen some designs, where there is too much information in the dash. Not ergonomic and will require too much time to process. |

I quite like the map. But then I also loved night mode on my dad's old Saab. Most of my driving is with the HUD in minimal mode and the centre screen off entirely.
The driving display is amusing once or twice but pretty pointless after the ooo shiny wears off. |

I have the LIVE COCKPIT in my G05 X5, and I must say, it took some getting used to. Not commenting specifically about the central map design, but the layout of the whole display needs some tinkering with. I find it cluttered and the most important info is lost in all the "noise".

Oddly the assisted driving view doesn't seem to appear on every car that has DA+. My car doesn't for example. A genius told me during a chat that the option isn't officially released and was surprised there were customer cars with it.

the instrument map display isn't the most colourful but it is very useful when driving around town, it gives a pretty accurate view of when you need to turn and which way. Especially if the centre console display has something else showing...
I find the centre console display difficult to read if you have traffic conditions enabled. It's really not that clear at a T junction if you need to turn left or right at a glance... The instrument display is totally clear. |

I have the Assisted drive view there, but to be honest I hardly ever look at the cockpit screen. The HUD is so good, I only look at the cockpit screen to check fuel level.
I do however wish the gears were shown in the HUD rather than the cockpit screen in manual mode. |

Although as tricky6 says it could be quite useful on occasions, it's just a pity there isn't a quicker way of switching it on and off from the speedo dial... and I guess if the nav is actually active, then the map will appear automatically to give directions if you don't have the nav screen showing on the media screen! I can't believe a software update is too far away so we can customise the dial area and maybe even add traditional round dials which many of us like (although I do quite like the shape of the digi dials which mimic the shape of the headlight coronas) Last edited by nozydog; 02-04-2020 at 08:06 AM.. |

For me, the issue is with the map edges, the way it fades out and into the other dials is not how I would like it. I quite like the other views as they are a clear distance from the two main dials.
I also like the view pictured above in post no 12. |

This appeared on my dash / HUD today. Never seen it before. Oddly, I travelled the same route yesterday and there was no sign of then. Anyone else had these warnings?
