Is Ultimate Care+ worth $800 just because it covers brakes?

Dealer was telling me that the only reason to get the base Ultimate Care+ plan is because it covers the brakes which can be around $3000 to replace. Is this true? Is it really a “deal” to pay for the extra maintenance just so you don’t have to pay for the brakes later?

I’ve had front and rear replaced separate times. Well worth it imo. Ended up needing valve cover gasket done too.

I assume valve cover is under the regular warranty. In my case it’s just a matter of if it’s worth $800 to add the brake maintenance to the regular warranty since I think that and wiper blades is about all the “plus” would add to the warranty.

I opted for it to purchase it. The cost of the plan was less than the scheduled brake services. Made it a pretty easy decision.

I bought it, but didn't need to do brakes before it expired. So it wasn't worth it for me, despite 3 oil changes and maybe some wipers.

That’s what I’m afraid of… you basically paid for the wipers since the oil changes already come with the car anyways.

I kind of feel like the opposite of most people. I really enjoy perfect threshold braking more than acceleration. I expect I will need pads sooner than later.

Oil changes come with the car? Is that dealer to dealer? Thought you needed the maintenance plan for that.

All new BMWs (at least in the US) come with 3 years/36,000 miles of "Ultimate Care" included. You can then buy "Ultimate Care+" to add the wiper blades and brakes. The included plan covers engine oil, cabin air filter, engine air filter, etc.

Ah, ok. That flew over my head in the finance room. Still probably would have bought the plan since I expected to drive more, but next time I won't.

sorry for the slight delay on the return I would shoot Christine a quick email and let her know your mileage and your vin number and she can let you know what your specific situation has available to you and then you can decide what you want to do. that's the best way to go about it
