Upgrade to 11/2020.36 and 330e range issue

Hi My dealer upgraded my 330e to the 'latest ' software last week and ever since the range is all over the place. When I picked it up on 80%, range was 21 miles. When I got home (empty) and charged overnight, the range was 7 miles!

Then when I drove it (very gently) it went up to 18 miles.

Now, having charged again having driven it uber gently, it is showing 100% and 12 miles!.

Anyone else got random range?

It's "relearning", normal after software updates.

Also, the cold weather ( nearing zero) has a massive impact on range

I too had my car updated last week. I agree in full it's all over the place.

My car is in my garage on 100% full charge and the range is 16 miles! It used to be 32 in the summer and maybe 28 in cold weather.

I don't know about it learning again but something is not right.

I have the same issue after an update in September. A new update didn't fix the issue, and my range is all over the place - couldn't tell if it affected my real range yet.

I don't think it takes 3 months to "relearn" anything..

I have a chart of the drop data where it clearly shows the range drop after the update early Sept.

What are you using to collect this chart data?

Nice! Thanks for this. I'll need to take a look and will be fun to code a few things with this data for my car.

Did you guys got a fix for this? My range is very low with the winter now (about 20-25km/15 miles for a full charge) after this.

I imagine this goes without saying and you're all well aware, but preconditioning has a rather substantial effect on range these cold wintery days....

I agree, however after the software upgrade the indicated range has plummeted.

On the app now it's just charged to 100% and the range is 12!

That just can't be right. Upgrade was done 3 weeks ago and plenty of time to relearn.

Very odd.

That's all ahead of me so! I'm in Ireland and have not received anything beyond the last 2019 update. OTA that is. Have no need yet to get it in to the dealer for anything and with lockdown, dealer is in a different county so no supposed to travel there.

But a couple of questions. When you drive to you actually get 12 miles? And, what's the general temperature?

To be fair although the app says 12 miles, when I got in the car it said 23. I drove on electric to work (with many downhill sections) and its on 22 in the car park. That's after 6 miles on electric (I kid you not)

However when I get in the car later within 50 yards its range will drop to maybe 17 and I will get home with maybe 9. Temp is + 8 and I have not used pre conditioning today.

Before the update the indicated range at the end of day would be 18 or 19 maybe.

Do you set the car to preheat on your return journey when it is not plugged in? Or are the heated seats and steering wheel coming on due to the low temp as these actions will all drastically reduce the predicted range

As you have many downhill sections on your way to work, I believe that you should have many uphill sections on your way back home.

My electric range is really drained on uphill sections.
