Might actually need the chrome grills to highlight that little split in the middle, otherwise... well, it just looks like an Audi.

I won't complain like many here, it's not that bad. But I'm starting to worry less about the front of the new BMW models than about the rear designs, especially the rear lights. They look very "asian" to me and I actually see nothing BMW-like in it, which ist a shame IMHO. And these new rear lights look somehow cheap and pretty dated to me (e.g. compared to the very modern looking new Audi rear lights).
But in general the new 4er could look good, though. Last edited by Art__Vandelay; 02-05-2020 at 04:42 PM.. |

I think this car will split opinion and that's already visible on here
It's a bold and divergent move, it might attract new customers who like big grills to the brand! I'm not a fan immediately and hope the new m3 doesn't follow this. Beauty is a very subjective attribute and certainly one driven by opinion - we all respect that. However, one strand of that is proportion and cars like the new 4 and current x7 lack proportion. The X7 in fact is ugly from most angles vs the elegance of the new 8 - the difference is proportion

As for cheap look I think that’s due to the 2D view of a photo. IRL I suspect a significant 3D shape making it look a bit more premium and modern. |

I saw a Lexus with a similar looking grill yesterday, it was gigantic and plastic and didn't appear to provide any functional benefit. It was distracting and not my taste. I'm with you.

I actually really liked the 4 concept - futuristic and positive design
But this just looks a plain flat dumbed down version of it. Particularly with the lack of 3d feel and the missing middle kidney bar split, it just has the feel of an Audi grill. Not looking good really, still hoping it's better in the flesh. |

The 4 series design language has too be completely different from the 3 series model: Why do I want to buy/lease the SAME EXACT car minus 2 doors and call it something different! Doesn't make sense. BMW understands that this design language is exciting, aggressive and popular especially with the market in Asia, specifically CHINA, which is where most of the sales are. You dont like the design, then stop complaining and dont buy or lease the car. But lets wait when your lease is up or you are ready for a new coupe and see what you are going to do |
