tuning question
Hello, I have an m340i xdrive, I am pushing about 700 whp on a f80paul tune and I love it. I am just missing a couple of features due to Femto unlock. I really want flex fuel, anti lag etc. I already have all the support parts in the car.
I also have been seeing many people push way faster and way more power on less modified cars. I was wondering if going to ecutek was possible. And if it would be able to give me more performance for my build. I love the tune f80paul has given me and it’s amazing how much he cares for his customers and the support is immaculate. But I can’t do without the extra features and I’m not reshipping my ecu. I’ve read that Ecutek will be better for port injection. More control. Maybe worth checking out!
Also, are you experiencing any fuel pressure drops with that setup? Maybe a high pressure fuel pump upgrade is needed to support all the other fueling mods? kern417 just posted a video that Spool is about to release a HPFP Last edited by GA/\/\/\/\A_CT; 05-04-2023 at 05:33 AM.. |

As mentioned ecutek doesn't work on femto unlock/MH cars.

He has port injection so upgrading the HPFP wouldn't do anything. The fueling is being supplemented with the port injection.

You have a motiv reflex. Use the motiv flex fuel sensor and pass it in through an empty logging channel on bm3.

I’ve seen a number of Pure800 + MH examples pushing up to 740 whp which is just about what Pure 800 maxes out on. Not sure about Pure850, since all Ive seen are Pure800 examples. Not dissing your tuner, as Ive used him in the past, but I’d have a look at Kagan tuning. He’s my current tuner, and the guy knows how to tune fast ass M340’s, and it doesn’t hurt that he also has an M340i as his personal car. Last edited by GD1981; 05-04-2023 at 11:22 PM.. |

I will contact kagan and see what he says. And also I thought the pure 850 was the best turbo for the power, if not what turbo is the best for the car |

I was running a flex fuel setup through BM3 and custom tune through Cedar Performance in Dallas TX. Only thing you’re missing is the ethanol analyzer- with everything you have, including the motive reflex you’d be able to run a flex map/setup with a tuner. Honestly tho, 700 whp on that setup seems to be the upper end of what you’re going to be able to hit. I was running similar setup on a 2020 at around e50

As mine was a 2020, I was fortunate enough not to have to mess around with the new PIA DME. Sold the m340i a couple weeks ago tho, and picked up a ‘23 g80 M3. DME is on its way back from FEMTO as we speak, and we will be doing flex-fuel setup on that as well. We will be tuning through BM3 platform again as well. Was your tune loaded through BM3?

No you need that custom rom part for the flex fuel to work.

Pure 850 is a fine turbo. I went with Pure 800 since it is the less laggiest of the two, though 850 has a higher ceiling.

The only way to get flex fuel via bm3 is with this CustomROM feature. Get with Kagan is my recommendation. What you should do is work on 3 different maps. 93 pump, E40, E85 |

The Pure800 turbo is typically the more suitable choice for most daily drivers due to its faster response. Its high power limit is more than sufficient for most users, providing a pleasing balance of performance and drivability. However, for those drivers seeking the highest possible horsepower at high RPMs and not overly concerned about slower response during regular driving, the Pure850 turbo would be the better option. It's all about aligning the turbo selection with your driving style and performance goals.
