Sorry I was not able to find this mentioned anywhere but will the new July builds with the updated motor stop the iconic crackling/pops that the current M340i does? Do we know yet? Thank you

Probably not if I had to guess. You can disable the iconic sounds in settings I believe.

My guess is that it probably will because the updated B58 has the Otto Particle Filter which definitely mutes the exhaust sound.Thats why i ordered the MY24.I don’t want my M340i to have the Particle Filter.We should know for sure very soon because people should be starting to take delivery of there MY25 M440i coupes any day now.It has the same updated engine.Are you sure that Australia is getting the same updated B58 engine with the Otto Particle Filter that the US and Canada are getting?

BMW Blog mentioned it in this article when the M440i Coupe specs were released but this info just applies to the US and Canada.The M340i in Europe has always had the Particle Filter so this is new for the US and Canada.

I thought the first year didn’t have it and they found a way to have it with the filter. Also you could try getting the mpe

No idea to be honest, half the people tell me it's a definite yes, the other half a definite no. Don't think it's been confirmed so people are just guessing.

It doesn't really matter to me now because i have already ordered the MY24 M340i with a May production date.The MPE is another reason why i orderedd the MY24.I test drove an M340i with the MPE and it sounded fantastic.I might eventually get it.Who knows if it will even be compatible with the updated B58 engine.
