Side mirror auto-dip

I could swear that the passenger mirror always used to auto-dip when I engaged reverse but haven't seen it do it in a while now.
Does it only dip when the parking sensors detect you're very close to something?

slide the mirror switch to the other position.

It should be set to the driver’s side. Not passenger’s side.

Dude... just set it to the opposite side and try it... it's not that hard. I'm sure it takes more effort to type out "it doesn't work on passenger side" than to try the only other option and flip it to driver side and try.

If neither work, take it in.

Check the setting in iDrive as well to make sure the box is checked. Stranger things have happened with iDrive...

I thought it's the switch which controls it and nothing on iDrive for it. Only thing I seen on iDrive is for the mirrors folding in.
