Didn't know it was also on US version. I thought it was only on EU. I am going to check tomorrow.

It says you have to drive for at least 6 miles before it is active in the instruction manual, so keep that in mind.

So you can only turn it on after driving for 6 miles? Hmmm that may be why many ppl have not been able to see the mode.

Im pretty sure that one time, I drove around for atleast 10 miles or so and still no LC. I’ll have to try one more time to make sure. 6 miles seem way too much btw. In my Audi, we had to wait till the car reached operating temperature which was in a few minutes.

I drive an M-sport 320i without adaptive suspension and only comes with Sport (and sport individual obviously)

Launch control does enable but not in the right way. Following the procedure from the manual the notification "launch control" pops up in the control panel but the revs are not managed correctly. Holding the brake down while applying throttle will instantly send off the car but not in a smooth and efficient manner...

Clutch will be dead soon if you try too often!

My G20 330i with stock suspension has Sport Plus, I press Sport button and then choose either Standart Sport or Individual or Sport Plus with idrive controller, the selected one then becomes default whenever sport is pressed. I ordered car with sport transmission option where you get manual padde shifters on the wheel. In sport plus car feels more jumpy and engine is kept on higher revs than with normal sport, traction control is not disabled just reduced.

My two cents: if you search for the functionality on the vehicle onboard manual (inside the car dashboard, or for recent models on the owners manual app as well), and you find it, then your car has that feature.
About the launch control it seems that if your car is equipped with a sport automatic transmission then you have the launch control

Apparently it's only North American 330is that don't have sport+? Not sure about the M340i. I assume it has sport+

This is how sport plus works on my F31:
Sport plus holds gear and doesn’t auto up shift while hitting the rev limiter. Also keep the trans in manual mode indefinetly. Normal sport mode goes back to auto after not using the paddle shifters for a while.
Also the traction control is a bit more loose.

I have a North American 330i and it didn't have Sport Plus, but I coded it in. It shows up now in iDrive and the instrument cluster. The coding forum has instructions on how to do it.

How does it drive in sport plus does it have less lag off the line compared to sport?

Car feels livelier in sport plus than sport. Better throttle response. Gear shifts are snappier and holds gears for longer.
If you haven’t coded it in, you must. One of the best changes I made to my car was coding sport+.

So I’m in the US and my 21 Msport 330i didn’t come with Sport+ of course. I assumed I still had launch control since my bmw assistant will pull up the instructions on how to do it if I ask her but I just attempted to do it multiple times with no success.

My car is at like 1800 miles so not the break in period and the car was warmed up to normal running temps. Anyone in the US have success using launch control without Sport + coded in?

Yup. You don't need sport+ for LC. Sport works fine too. Apparently it works in comfort mode too but I haven't tried it in comfort mode. Key points are oil temperature at operating temperature, single click of the traction control button and shifter in S. Floor brake pedal and then throttle pedal past the kickdown button and you're good to go after you see the checkered flag.

Just read the full Owners Manuel section. Maybe I was just shy of 6 miles. My car was fully up to temp but i may have turned off the car briefly to confirm the instructions before attempting.

6 miles isn't important. I've done it after driving for a couple of miles. As long as the engine is warm and oil temp is above 165F (iirc), you'll be fine

If it wasn't the 6 miles then idk what else it could've been. I made at least 5 attempts with the car fully up to temp.

I press the DSC button once, switch the car into M/S mode, put my left foot and press the brake peddle as far down as I can and finally fully press down the gas peddle with my right foot. The car revs but no sign of the flag nor any sign of a launch control message.

How many miles has your car done? I'm not sure if it is activated on cars under a certain mileage? The engine probably has to be run in. I know the 6 miles thing in my car isn't needed since I've done much less than that (3 miles or less) and LC worked after.
