Thoughts on Cognac Interior with Maple Open Pore Trim?

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
What are your thoughts? I think the dark Open pore (black) looking one would be better for contrast but can't seem to find any in stock like this close to my area. Need some opinions. I'm getting an agressive price but its not really blowing me away.

I would do the ash Grey. I believe it will have a better contrast and bring out the color more.

That the combo I have. I was a bit surprised because I didn't realize the maple was 'open pore' until it showed up. The color and grain of the maple are good, but I did expect a gloss finish like my previous BMWs.

The piece around my center console especially is kind of rough to the touch. I wonder how well it will wear with time.

Make sure you look at it with the bin/cupholder door closed--that's the biggest piece.

I've only had the car a few weeks, so I'll still giving myself time to get used to it. But I am considering applying a wax if not a full varnish to the wood, assuming I can find out how to remove them safely. I think there's only four pieces of wood.

This is the exact combo I have on order and will be picking it up in three weeks.

Not a fan of the Dakota but the color looks good. I generally prefer contrast but I do like the open pore look. The polished wood tends to look like plastic imitation.

The colors clash. It looks like a person randomly mashed some buttons in the configurator.

I see it completely the opposite way. I think the maple wood and the cognac coordinate well. I do prefer the grey wood, but I think this combination looks just fine. If the deal was good and I didn’t want to wait for a custom order I could easily live with it.

I did cognac with open pore oak. Just liked the look of the oak better.

+1 The maple would look great with a black interior. If the seats only were cognac, I guess it could work. However, with the lower dash in non-black, it does not combine well IMHO.

That combination does not have enough contrast,in my opinion. Then again the Open Pore Fine Wood Oak Grain trim may not look good with those seats.

I agree. Individually they look nice, but together, not so much.

Here is a picture of cognac with open pore oak. Call me partial but I think it ties everything together well without a lot of mismatch.

The lower dash in cognac was a bit to much for me, so we went for the all black individual leather dash and aluminium mesh effect.

I'm in the minority who think cognac is ugly regardless

Not a fan of either the cognac or the maple. I like the open pore oak though.

I'm generally not a fan of seat (non-black) colors extending onto the dash area.

If you order the full leather dash you can easily solve this.

How did you get this? I like the cognac but absolutely hate that lower dash in cognac. Is this an option in the United States?
