320i Sport Line - no Active Sound and no Sport Plus?
I have 320i in Sport Line (not M Sport).
What I noticed is that there is no Sport+ mode available in this version. It looks like there is no Active Sound in Sport mode either. And above all there is no exhaust burbles nor pops in any of the modes Beside that the car is P E R F E C T But wanted to ask if you know if any of the features mentioned above can be somehow coded/enabled in the 320i Sport? As I would not complain hearing a bit more aggressive exhaust sound in my car. Any advice here? Asking especially because I know Sport+ and exhaust pops are there for 320i M Sport. Not really sure about Active Sound. Last edited by michal.pta; 11-12-2019 at 02:59 PM.. |

The pops and burbles in the 340i are real. It doesn't have active sound.

Huh lol? You know that is the exhaust sound right? I can hear it from inside my house when I start it on the street.

How can I miss all the external pops and burbles fanfare in the M340i Sport+ However, the active sound is still very prominent in the interior, OMG especially the 330i.. Jezz.. |

best thing I ever did was code off my active sound in my 340.
That said there are some funny videos out there where owners have coded their 328's (as an example) with the M3 engine sound. Here is one: |

So do you have any idea if it is possible to somehow code the pops and burbles in?
They are somehow programmatically enabled when you switch to Sport+ and disabled when you switch back to Comfort. So there must be a way. Have you heard somebody has done it already? |

I have really been wondering about the active sound. In the 330 I drove it was really obvious. In my M340 I don't notice any at all (Thank God). I would like to know the actual facts on this. But I'm not complaining.

When in sport mode just press the DSC button once and that gives u what previously was sport+ mode (and shows "sport DSC" on the dash).

Well I’m guessing that the engine is significantly louder from the inside when in Sport mode. In my 320i the engine just revs to higher rpm, but nothing else, it’s similarly quiet in the cabin like in Comfort. How about your one?

Slightly off-topic but since there aren't many 320i owners in here, do you experience any sort of jerking when stopped with Auto-Hold |

this is why I purchased the M340xi I absolutely needed the Pops and Crackles.
I actually plan to upgrade the exhaust so its even more pronounced. Right now I drive around down shifting constantly |

I drive a 320i M-sport G20 in Holland and tested the exhaust and interior sound in all drive modes inc. DSC. There is NO difference whatsoever....
One thing I find strange is the test drive 320i model I drove with almost similar specs had a nice rattle when revving in N that I can recall. But also not on my car... Any thoughts? Could be software? |

I think it’s software. They must have changed something recently then. Please hear it in this movie, it sounds definitely different than in my car and the author claims it’s 320i.

Again it does sound like the loaner 320i I test drove, I think to remember that it made a similar more sporty sound (while specs are roughly the same except that I opted for the standard suspension and therefore lost VSS). I'll send the dealer an email to ask! |

Author says it’s a stock exhaust. Please notice they have also Sport Plus option available, which is not the present in my 320i. I assumed it is because they have the M Sport versions. But I can be wrong here.
Let me know if you find out something from your dealer. |

I have an M-sport 320i with sport transmission as well, does not come with Sport+ mode... Any clue whether Sport+ is available in a different package? Tried to find in the option list as I could recall it as an option; but can only find "4U2 Driving Experience Control with ECO PRO / Comfort / Sport modus" (as standard in NL). |
