I'm with you. I don't think you get full coverage and it does not seem as effective. I always liked spraying and letting it soak for 20-30 sec before wiping away to get the stubborn bugs off.

Same here. While it looks cool, I think I prefer it like how it was before or in other cars.

When I use my wipers I always notice it barely cleans the water off with out leaving a thin layer. Almost like using a paper towel to clean up a water spill but the paper towel is too wet.

Wondering if there's a fix for this? I think I had this issue with my f30s aswell.

Maybe it's just me but my GF also noticed and complained about it.
As long as they clean the windshield enough to see, I suppose I never paid much attention to the quality of windshield wipers. They're just one of those boring accessories a car needs, but isn't really attention grabbing. I'm surprised bmw doesn't offer a $3000 inclement weather package with super high tech, state of the art wind shield wipers.

I think its just a safety issue for me. especially in bad ran on the highway. So thats my concern.

Also if they did I would probably have got that package on my car lmao

I agree! Oddly, my past 4 BMWs over the past 15+ years have all suffered from passenger side wiper crapness.

Maybe that's why my wife has navigational challenges?

When was the last time you changed them? This is typical behavior of worn out blades. I change mine at least once a year.

Hey thanks for the vid, Looks helpful but how helpful is the question ? Also how hard is it really raining too.

Also unrelated question. You seem to have had alot of 330s since the day of the e46s. Which one is your fav overall ? No technology bias included. (just in terms of structure, feel, etc)

To be absolutely honest with you- I am not completely in love with the G20. Yeah, the tech is great, it looks updated/modern inside and out with better materials, etc. but at the end of the day-my main interaction with a car is driving it.

The original e46 is untouchable for me. (esp. in wagon form) Such a perfect size for a solo commuter-easy to drive hard, easy to drive comfortably, easy to toss around, perfectly weighted and balanced, super linear steering. I wish i could go back and keep that car forever. E90 is a close second.

Things obviously went downhill with the F30. That being said at least the F30 was still a "tolerable' 182.5 inches. G20 is way too big for me. It's something i didn't pick up on on a short test drive bc you don't notice it until your day to day driving/commute. Plus-i still find the steering to be dull/vague/non-linear and many other companies have surpassed BMW in the EPS department.

I remember tossing the e46 around like it was a go kart. G20 feels like a boat.

I was going to say, some of these automated car washes have a clear wax coat that may be adding residue. Try a different wash location maybe? Or a "less deluxe" wash that doesn't include the coating.

Like engine oil, replacement requirements are a combination of age and usage. So even if rarely used, the rubber can degrade over time.

Mine are the best wipers I have ever had. You must have a film of something on your windshield. Also wipe down the rubber on the blades with some Alcohol. People always forget to clean the rubber blades when they clean their cars.

I have found the wiper blades to be OK, not great but OK. This comment is based on use in my current G20 & my retired F30.

One thing I do that I have found quite useful is to use RainX, after washing car. Not only do I do all windows (and wipe down with moist cloth), but I also take a paper towel, dampened with RainX along the sides of the edge of each wiper blade. I have found this takes off a lot of "stuff" & worn rubber from the blades & helps them perform a better

Hope that helps

Almost all car washes or valet companies spray all sorts of chemical rubbish on your screen. This causes the smearing you have seen - absolutely nothing to do with the wipers themselves. I have had at the same problem with every car that I didn't wash myself. The more you have the car cleaned by someone else, the more common the issue is. The less you clean the car, the more you will find that the windscreen washer fluid will clean the product off eventually and you will not have a problem.

Given the newness of your car you will be keeping it clean regularly so be sure to clean the screen separately afterwards yourself.

its been raining here in los angeles and I would say the wipers seem fine. No worse than my last car, I mean theres only so much spread between the worst and best wipers, they seem to be pretty good to me though.
