Would you visit Miami Beach for the weekend to attend a large BMW meet? (poll)
Would you visit Miami Beach for the weekend to attend a large BMW meet? This thread is simply intended to gauge interest level for the area.
UPDATE: The meet wouldn't take place on Ocean Drive itself - there is a large parking area within 3 miles of Miami Beach with enough capacity for 250 cars. Last edited by sonic1; 09-11-2015 at 05:55 PM.. |

It's a great area but that is the worst area one could think of for a car meet. The traffic would be thru the roof and where would this be held and where would everyone park? The area is far too congested for this type if thing imho.

I have no idea where they would put all of those cars on South Beach. Something tells me the actual meet would likely be further inland or north of SB.

Depending how far you're travelling and what the weather is like in your state...maybe...Me personally I'd rather hit myself in the face with a bag of hot nickels than go to Miami.

miami is pretty cool, but if you were really thinking about something like this it would have to be a little more north. like orlando.
mfest in vegas attracts people from all over. miami is just too south.. lol |

I wouldn't I don't particularly like driving down there. I hate visiting one of my friends who lives in Brickell. There is no guest parking for visitors at his building and there is almost never parking on the street close by. So you have to pay to park in his building which I hate and you cannot self park.
Sorry end rant... West palm beach has fair grounds really close to the turnpike and a few miles from I95. Been to several events there including some car meets. Traffic isn't nearly as bad as ft lauderdale or Miami. |

Forgive me for stereotyping, but given the area I'd probably be inclined to think it was less of an "enthusiast" meet and more of a "I run buck wild with daddy's credit card" meet, so added to the reasons mentioned above, not a huge incentive to attend.

too sunny, too many hot chicks, and only a 30min. drive from my house, also on the weekends I'm usually at the beach watching these hot chicks...so no too much of a hassle..

Maybe NMB area (North Miami Beach for those keeping score at home) but SoBe would be insane. Too much traffic

I prefer car meets to have car related themes nearby - Karting, Drag Strip, Autocross.
Otherwise it's a bunch of awkward dudes circlejerking some douche stance guy with 3 lines of his signature dedicated to his "build" of 10K wheels, and $500 coilovers. Pass. Last edited by Taskmaster; 09-14-2015 at 05:48 PM.. |

Now if I lived on ocean drive and had a balcony overlooking the meet and it was after 11am... I MIGHT consider sipping my cafecito while watching the meet from my balcony. |

I'd trailer the M down with a group if there was a larger turnout; I have a few friends in Boca who'd be down.
