Auto Dip Headlights

I had the above on my previous F31,they were operated by a switch on the end of the indicator stalk.
The switch on my G21 seems to only operate the different displays non the dashboard.
Is the switch hidden in the car settings or do I simply not have it ?

On my G21 there are 2 switches on the end of the stalk: top one cycles through the trip computer displays, bottom one turns the adaptive lights on/ off.

Don't think the 2019 model had it. Mine didn't ( 2019 320D M Sport ) but my 2021 M340D does have it.

You can retrofit this if you really wanted to. The stalk wasn’t fitted to 2019 cars. I think it appeared mid way through 2020. You then needed to buy the HBA option from the BMW App Store.

Laser lights have the stalk and HBA as standard as they need the HBA for the selective beam/ anti dazzle.

Anyway below are rough costs to retrofit.

New stalk - £60-100 from eBay
Coding - £100(ish)
HBA subscription - £200 for the lifetime of the car

I was wondering if it could be retro fitted.
However I know nothing about coding,how or where would I go about it?

Not sure what a dealer would charge for coding unless a.summers86 above meant that was their charge when he posted some rough estimates for you.
Otherwise there will be some on here who do a fair bit of coding who could maybe do it for you?...That's if it can be done that way.....Worth asking the question?

There’s been a few threads on here about retrofitting it so try a search and have a look through some of those. I looked into it myself a couple of months ago but decided it wasn’t worth the time or cost for the use I’d get out of it.

My car has all the hardware required, but I just don't drive at night enough to justify the £200 for this option. It should be free if you have the hardware already. £200 for a software unlock.. Ah, no!

Tend to agree with that if your night driving is minimal. Mine is a lot less nowadays but was included in my chosen spec so have t anyway but if I was paying for it to be retrofitted then it's a good example of the 'law of diminishing returns!'

A dealer wouldn’t likely retrofit it.

There are a few people on this forum who can do the coding. Not a huge job - just 20mins or so via an OBD port and teamviewer.

Fitting of the new stalk is a fairly easy process as well.

What about the subscription? At the moment it's obviously not available for my car in connected drive store. How to tackle that?

The guy will make it available in the store.

Takes around 1hour to appear on the store once the coding is done.
