Alarm goes off -- no notification of any kind

It seems to me, with such a connected car, and My BMW functioning well, that anytime the car alarm goes off I would be notified somehow. I just assumed. But the alarm has gone off a few times since I've owned it and I've never received any kind of push notification.

Shouldn't that be an option? *IS* that an option? If so, what do I need to do to get this functioning?

FWIW, My Connect operates properly for remote starts and viewing cameras, etc.

It seems so obvious, and a great use of the BMW app. But from what I gather it's just not possible. I'm boggled thinking why they'd not include this simple feature.

Push notification is simply not supported. The app is designed with limited functionality — which requires the end user to query for information from the app. Even on Tesla the alarm notification is linked to Sentry mode (parking camera) — which of course is lacking on our cars. So go figure

Agree this would be probably the best feature to know if your alarm has gone off. Its clearly able to know when the car is unlocked etc.
You can get suggest it to bmw by emailing them. Maybe a feature jn 3 years haha
I get app notifications when my car is plugged in and charging, and then when it's fully charged. But that's the only push notification I get.
Maybe there's a concern over when the notification is delayed or the accuracy. I remember once the car status saying my car was unlocked in the app. Went back to it (30 mins away) to find it was locked.

I suppose the app might need a redesign to better support push notifications, but yeah there's good reason to offer better two-way communications between driver and car and I hope they reconsider its exclusion.
