This generation has been out since 2019 so when is the next generation likely to come out? About to pick up a G21 M340i shortly but just curious on this as I heard that the next generation may be based on the neue klasse concept?

07/24: Another refresh. I don't think BMW will call it "LCI2" but the changes will be noticeable. The interior will get new materials, trims, glass knobs, Iconic Glow kidneys will become available as an option, there will be new wheels. US and Korea will get B48 and B58 TÜ engines (on paper, there will be 7hp bumps for 320i and 330i, and 7hp loss for M340i).

Intro models: worldwide 318, 320, M350 xDrive; US 330, 330 xDrive, M350 xDrive.
03/27: adds worldwide 320 xDrive.
07/27: adds worldwide 330e.
11/27: adds worldwide 330.
The above lineup and schedule are preliminary and may be incomplete (e.g. the fate of diesels is currently unknown)

The G20 is running for a while yet, be interesting to see what the mild update has instore later this year. I expect the G50 will share a lot of similarities with the new G45 X3, so that will be a good indication of what power trains, tech etc. will be available. I've already had two G20's, so when my lease runs out I wouldn't get a 3rd. Either I buy out and wait until the G50, look at the G45 X3, or go outside of BMW land. I expect quite a few buyers will be in the same boat. Must say I am quite intrigued by the G45 X3, never owned an SUV but I am getting tired of being blinded at night by every other SUV out on the road. Especially the big truck based SUV's in the 3 series you are right at headlight level.
