Mild-hybrid tech
Hi all,
Does anyone know definitively on which of the G20 models are getting this as part of the summer updates? I remember discussing the press release in another thread that stated numerous models across the BMW range were going to get this, but as far as I can see it's just the 320d and M340d that seems to get it, which was always the case anyway? I've ordered a 320i and it's currently in production - the 520i gets MHT, so I'm hoping my 3 will too! Cheers. |

Looking at the configurator, it's the 320d, 318d, and M340d that have it so far, but it seems odd if they're fitting the B48 in the 5 series and it has MHT, that they wouldn't just fit the same configuration to the 3 too.

Very strange as OP says, if being added to LCI 5 series petrol, why not to 3 series? My 330i, ordered early March, is due to be manufactured early Sep, so would like it, but pretty sure not getting it.

It's a 48V (8bhp) electric motor that will do things like cutting the engine while coasting / crawling at low speed in traffic etc. Designed to increase economy / decrease CO2 emissions.
On the 5 series forum there are people reporting very strong economy on their 20d engines with this tech fitted. |
