New 330E Type 2 cable question

Hi there. So my new 330E should be with me in a couple of weeks. Very excited. For those interested I went with an Edition in Tanzanite blue and Fjord Blue / Black Merino interior. It's a stunning combo in my humble opinion! I should add that I'm moving from a previous gen 330E M-Sport Plus. Love that car but time to change!

I'd like to ask those who took delivery of a G20 330E did they receive a type 2 public charging cable with their car along with the domestic 3-PIN PLUG charger. I only ask as a couple of reviews I read stated that it was supplied.

Tx.

No. You only get the standard 3-pin plug cable, which is too short to be practical for much use anyway......

Mine didn’t come with the type 2 cable in Oct 2019, but thought I’d seen they then subsequently did start supplying them with the car? Anyone with a more recent delivery who can confirm?

You're correct. In fact, it even shows on the UK configurator that you get a type 2 charger as standard now...

Thanks folks. It shows the same on the irish congigurator but it's unchecked by default. It's not listed on the order but perhaps it's added as standard. Better be!
When I got my first 330 in 2017, i used the domestic charger for a few days while waiting for my home charging unit to be installed. After that, never. So it's sorta pointless. I could do with a second type 2 cable for convenience...

Great, so someone who orders a car for delivery at the start of production has to fork out EXTRA for a type 2 cable, but someone getting one now gets the cable included...... 😡 Plus, you can now have a towbar on the 330e but those of us with production in the first few months post launch can't...... 😡 BMW really not doing customer service very well at all. Come on, look after customers, especially those that buy before having ever seen a new model!

Don’t worry too much Petejigsaw. I ordered mine in Februsry and the price for my 330e has jumped over £2200 including the uplift in March which includes the rise for the charging cable,, again in July and now with the additional payment for metallic paint. I think the early cars were even cheaper even if they didn’t have a charging cable.

But of a pain definitely - but at least you should have got the £500 grant for home charging point. It dropped to £350 in March so the extra grant early on should cover the cost of the type 2 cable.

Also the new model is a bit more expensive, and for company car drivers, they only pay 8% tax on cars registered before April.
