I recently decided to install my aftermarket amp and sub in the trunk of my 2020 330i. Since I didn't see anything in forums with specific instructions I documented what I did in hopes it helps someone else.

Please make note that I have the HiFi audio package so these instructions are specific to that system.

Your diagram shows a high-level input of the aftermarket amp that is not correct. Your LOC output is the input to the aftermarket amp, there is no high level inputs to your aftermarket amp in your photos.

This is wired according to the install instructions of the manufacturer of the line output converter (attached). It is working correctly in my BMW as it has in the last 3 vehicles I've had it in.

All this is gonna to be for nothing though as I just ordered the Audiotech MATCH UP 7DSP and all new speakers to replace factory ones. MATCH UP 7 DSP has an RCA out so my loc will no longer be needed once new amp\dsp is installed. Oh well.

The diagram on page 1 of your document shows your aftermarket amp having wired speaker inputs (incorrect), not the LC2i having wired speaker inputs (correct).

Ahh, now I see what you are referring to, my fancy microsoft paint line drawing...not the physical install itself. It does contradict how things are physically connected in the pictures, so I'll correct the diagram so it doesn't cause confusion to someone else.

Hey man, nice pdf doc it's very detailed and helpful. I'm thinking of installing a amp+sub setup myself on my 330. Quick question, what do use to secure the subwoofer box and avoid it from rolling in the trunk? I would like to set it up neat and have it secured while it's sitting in the trunk. Thanks!

Do you need the technic wiring harness to do this? One stereo shop says yes the other one says they can tap into the underseatsubwoofers to power the LOC and doesn’t need the harness. What do you think?

You need to decide between cutting wires in your car or not for this install, that's the difference.
