Pros and cons of OBD

I’m thinking of an OBD connection with a Thinkware U1000 dual Dashcam setup. Seems like an easy connection. Any drawbacks to doing so?

I've got a Blackvue powered from the OBD in my X3, no problem whatsoever

Blackvue

I’m not seeing the option to run OBD with the the DR900x. It almost seems like Blackvue is against using this connection now. They push the battery packs. How do you feel about the battery packs vs the aynyou are running it? Any concerns with your BMW battery draining/straining?

I power a V1 using OBD and it works great. I found the OBD connector extended down too far so I bought a flat adapter. Can't see it and I don't have the risk of bumping it with my leg getting in the car.

The OBD cable is an extra available on Amazon, I've not had any battery issues, it's been in the car for 2 years now.

I've been running a Q800PRO powered via OBD for over a year now without any issues. Refer to this post and thread for more info: https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...2&postcount=81
