Bimmercode changes the settings on various control modules for your car. The one for the dash display has nothing to do with the drivetrain.
In general, they never void the entire warranty for the vehicle just because you changed something. They might be a little ambitious when looking for cause and effect (like did your exhaust mods cause an engine issue), but they do look for a relationship. I don’t think they would even care if you changed the look of the dash, unless your warranty claim was for the instrument panel. |

The Bimmercode changes I have made don't really get noticed but my V1 powered from the OBD port does. I remove the radar detector and the OBD adapter when I take it in to service. I don't think they can help themselves blaming the added electronics for every problem. Most of my changes revert back to stock when a new update is installed. Kind of implies the changes aren't permanent.
