Samsung Galaxy S10 (Verizon) and BMW Connected App

Hope I'm posting in the correct place. I saw another forum specific to Nav systems but the subforum seemed it was for older model year cars.

I'm looking at a 2020 BMW 430ix. BMW won't support Android Auto till '21. I'm wondering if anyone has used a Galaxy S10 with the BMW Connected App and your carrier? (as i've read elsewhere, at least times past, some features were carrier dependant). The most important feature for me is sending destination address.

> Does it and what other other features work?

Other then BMW Connected App, has anyone also done screen mirroring? How does that look with Google Maps and/or Waze?

Thanks for any info you can provide!

Screen mirroring works with my S10+ but pointless unless you code the car to do video in motion because as soon as you move it will stop displaying the video (safety feature pfft)
Frankly I've never had to use google maps so far as the built nav system never failed to find an address.
One cool thing is that you can use the Connected app to do a google map search and send that over to the car then you get it and it picks it up.

I have an S8 & use T-Mobile. Connected App works OK, with two notable exceptions (I'll get that later). I routinely send destinations to my 20 M340 without a problem. Both the apps on phone & iDrive do a hit or miss hob of reading stuff off my phone's calendar. 3D view works sporadically-- think that is a systemic BMW server problem

Hope that helps

S10+ with T-Mobile. I use the app every day to remote start my car and it never failed. Haven't tried sending a destination yet but the only issue I have is the remote 3D view sometimes taking a few tries to actually work.

Re: doing a google search and sending the destination to the car

Does this require a ConnectedApp to work? (I'll guess yes) and if I were really only interested in sending destinations to the car and real time traffic, what is that costing me in an annual subscription?

I have the S10 Verizon with mixed results.

1. Digital key is incompatible
2. Basic functions work like vehicle status, lock, ventilation work.

It’s sort of a gimmick in my opinion and I wouldn’t let it be the reason to buy or not buy the car.

No idea on the cost, it came included with my car for 3 years.
I think you can also send it from connectedDrive web portal, without the app.
