Radar Detector Issue

Own a fully loaded G20 XDrive. I have a valentine one radar detector and I also have it mounted on a bracket thatJust below rear view mirror. The problem is the radar detectors interfering with all the radar sensors on the vehicle specifically the radar cruise control..Has anyone had this issue and is there a workaround? The K40.360 is supposed to work but don't want to permanently install.

I believe your issue is false laser coming from the gesture control IR sensor mounted in the overhead panel. If you cover that sensor with black electrical tape, the falsibg should stop.

BMW radar sensors are much higher frequency than your V1 is looking for. I believe BMW uses 76-77Ghz.

Wow,I completely forgot about the gesture control. I think I’m just gonna deactivate it because I don’t use and hopefully that should solve a problem.
Thanks!

If deactivating in iDrive does not disable the IR sensor, you'll want to cover it with a piece of opaque tape. On iDrive 6 cars, deactivating gesture control in iDrive didn't stop the falsing.

Or maybe you can find the fuse powering it, but I'd be concerned about powering off other devices.

I would just disable laser, by the time you're picking it up you've already been nailed

We own Laser Diffusers so I'll get them transferred and valentine one. I suspect that all of the radar manufacturers are going to
update software to accommodate all of the safety systems,

I have the same issue. I kind of like the gesture control but suspect I might cover the emitter on longer road trips.

Between Waze and the V1 have not been pulled over for several years (though my V1 is likely getting old in the tooth).
