Carplay navigation in instrument cluster

For some reason when I use waze, the navigation route does not get displayed in the instrument cluster, has anyone else had this issue and is it different with android auto?

Mine only shows Apple Maps

Even with Android Auto the instrument cluster only shows the current direction. There's no map route or additional information. Hopefully it's a future software upgrade!

Is this on 7/2020 update? I don't have the option at all. I'm on 7/2019.
