Never been a fan of the side mirrors being a different color from the body. To me, it makes it less (not more) sporty and cheap-looking. ... ... Anyone else feel the same way?

Yeah.

It's an Audi thing but BMW did it a long time ago.

They simply want you to upgrade to ///m performance mirror covers.

That was my wifes take......

The G80 will have to be spectacular for BMW to get any more of my pocket change in this segment. 6MT and selectable AWD will go a long way to making the case for my piggy bank to get lighter, but the final look will be the make-or-break factor.

And colors. VIBRANT COLORS! I likely won't be waiting in line if we see the G80 debut with 2 whites, 2 blacks, 2 greys, tiffany blue, a baby poop yellow and some weird orange/red hybrid.

Let's be bold, BMW! Give me Java Green, Atlantis Blue, Technoviolet, even Avus - I could see myself adding any of those before white or grey or black for a sports sedan. I shouldn't have to drop an additional $5000+ for a non-greyscale or non-arrest-me red/blue/yellow car.

I wish BMW would stop copying other car manufacturers and just focus *their* vision of the future.

I posted my impression of the g20 in another thread. The car honestly looks great! The design makes it look wide from the front. My first thought when I saw it was of the 5er, didn't have any Lexus or Kia or Audi feel to it at all. The grill didn't look out of proportion or anything either. I think in pictures it just looks that way because of the reflection of the light. It's a very handsome car and will sell in boat loads for BMW. An improvement over the previous gen 3er (sorry to all those owners, but you will be trading those in). lol

I went to the dealer and checked out what cerium gray looks like. yes it us copying Audi but looks even worse since it's not even really gray. it's like this flat polish light bronze color that doesn't work as well with a lot of colors.

my mom had a champagne colored Lexus RX when I was a kid and it reminded me of that blended with gray. ugh BMW, just give us an option to at least put the normal m sport trim on at least to replace those awful mirror caps and grill

BMW supposed to have kidney grills with slats. Does this have the venting open and close modes for aerodynamics? The fully electric 3 series won't need slat openings or rock guards as there will be no rad.

So this is what disappointment looks like.
I don't care how nimble or sporty it's become over the F30.
This car is downright hideous and has crazy Infiniti Q50 / Lexus vibes.
It's a shame , that front end has so much potential , it clearly resembles the E90 but an evolved form but that rear and side profile ... 🤮🤮🤮
But looks like some hope for the 4 though.
But if you're in the market for a vehicle of this caliber , I can't understand why you would ever choose this lexus over an S4 or C43 which are light years ahead. Can't believe I'm saying that Lol but it's true.

anyone else here after being an estoril blue F30 owner, get sick of that sort of blue?
Everyone's different, but I've had my EB F30 for 5+ years and still love it. It looks different enough throughout the day to make it feel like a versatile color. The new blue that they have for the G series definitely pops, but it feels more like a "standard" blue compared to something like EB or LBB.

the honeycomb grill looks like shit and the rear looks really stumpy. looks disproportionate vs how long the front is.

The last two photos in the OP - from these angles is it just me or is the rear end sort of disproportionately short compared to the front end? Looks a bit weird

My thoughts exactly - so it isn't just me!

I don't mind the grille though.

Yeah and the plumbing for the coolant. I guess some things don't change.
