No, sir. We are not. We share this forum.

A forum doesn't mean you can't view your option that doesn't match yours.
Many people liked my comment.
Many people don't like the grill.
Have I driven the new M3 on the track yes, and was a PERFECT track car, did I like the look of it NO. Did nearly all the people that day yes the Majority easy. All BMW fans and no Audi ones as you had to buy a new car to be there.
I used to have a manual 3 series just last year.
Why didn't I buy the new one, it's not a manual.
So I bought a V8 instead.
Never was my aim to insult you or others, but if people don't like a grill we sure are entitled to say it.

I like the new grill slats and the rear laser tails are super cool. Good for the M440i guys
I hope you can take bits from the LCI

at the end of the day, we are all BMW.

stop the hate. share the love. be happy for each other that we appreciate the product- regardless of which one you own and why.

and if you got any problems, tell BMW not the people who drive them.

This isn't a Jeep community. Does anyone care? Would anyone say the below isn't a real Jeep? Of course not, you probably don't care and the whole argument seems a bit silly. Same applies to how the rest of the world sees the //M badge. Perspective is a good thing.
thank you for this superb analogy. hope we all learn from it for all aspects of our lives/hobbies.

Mostly a repost of mine.

People foaming at the mouth about ///M. BMW M says "M-lites" are ///M cars. I understand the prestige of the ///M badge and what it represents. It is what it is.

>Rage quit BMW and go to Porsche because it's not like they're an expensive VW

Here is where there are 2 viewpoints. For the majority of BMW owners, at most it is a really cool car and they like the thought of it being sporty. They love the "Ultimate Driving Machine!" commercials.

But there is a decent size group where BMW is a "religious or military institution beholden to “tradition”."

I did work/race professionally, including 2 generations of M3s, and there is a rabid BMW fanbase that thinks the last great real and (cue the harps and flutes) TRUE BMW was the E30 M3. Everything after that has been a sellout to masses. You will find another group that feels that way about the E36 M3 and so on.

At the end of the day, with the current performance arms race, every manufacture needs to target a variety of demographics.

For example, I bought a M440i xDrive. Why spend more for the M440i rather than just a 430? I say 430 because if it is M car or bust then there is no reason for the 440... after all that is just for more performance.

I wanted better performance and the additional options I could only get with the M440i without going full M car.

I didn't go full M4 for a few reasons.

1. Daily driver during winters in Chicago
2. At some point one of my kids or wife will have to drive it.
3. I wanted a GT and not more of a high strung track focused car.
4. At some point I will buy something like an M4 and will pass the M440i to someone in my family.

They were available in the 3 series (2023) as well as long as you had a black interior. Since, I'm in SWFL, I wanted a light interior and had to forgo the ventilated seats.

Grill looks improved; definitely don't want one.

Also don't want to tie up 95 grand or whatever in an M4. I'd rather have a lightly used and depreciated M850.

I wonder if that grill will fit the pre-LCI?
