Regarding your question, yes, and let me springboard off of what you asked... Realizing that the traditional “bench unlock” was a real pain point for the community. We felt it best to make the M-Link complimentary to any tuning platform vs locking it solely to Mission tunes. And this is the first of several upcoming releases, all of which are complimentary to any platform.
While the M-Link pairs nicely with any tuner's platform, our tuning platform remains the front-runner for drivers looking for a set-it-and-forget approach. While still retaining oem like reliability, predictability, and drivability.
Once unlocked, you can flash your ECU at will, all over OBD port. Just follow any special procedures, if any, that your tuning platform posts for regular bench-unlocked DMEs.

The hardware in the M-Link already contains unlocking capabilities for the 2021+ ECUs. Official support for these ECUs will be addressed and discussed for future releases.
So if it contains the unlocking capabilities, will it unlock my 2021 ECU?

In for G20 B46…. Was hoping Dinan would release their home tuner, but I guess this will be on the market first?

Just so I'm not being dumb, the bench-requiring 2018+ S55 not supported it seems?

Wait so does this mean no more having to ship to Femto for 2021-2024 models? (Once you release the 2021+ as you mentioned)

No dates yet, but soon. We have few other releases coming up before 21+ will be added to these devices

Correct. The hardware for the 21+ unlocking is already part of the M-Link. Once we push the firmware update, that will be the day when no more ECUs go to Russia.

If your B46 is pre-2021, then its already supported by M-Link

I sincerely hope "soon" is not the same soon we have been hearing from all tuners, whether audi, Chevrolet, bmw, etc. regarding the model ecu in the LCI F97 and G80. I have a 2022 X3M and I am very close to ditching this platform due to lack of tuning options stateside. If you can pull it off in the next few months I will be the first to give you my money. I've got a station with E85 a mile from my house and assume this thing would rip with an E60 blend at stage 2. Hopefully faster than my old stage 2 E85 RS3 that trapped 134 mph.

Very nice! So if only the unlock license is purchased, will the device still make a backup do DME in case the unlock was interrupted?
Also, I’m thinking upgrading soon to a 2024 G80, will that platform be supported by the future update you mentioned?

I would hold back upgrading to 2021+ just yet as like we said, there are a few more important projects lined up beforehand, however, to answer your question: Yes, if you purchase only the unlock function, you can perform a full DME backup, Unlock as well as recovery in case of an issue with unlock. However, you will not be able to perform flashback functions that restore a full DME mirror image in case of OBD flashing issues, flag concerns, and other events.

This is worth mentioning: If you only purchase an unlock license at first, and at a later date want to perform a Flashback, all you have to do is upgrade your license. That simple.

Wow this is some amazing work and an awesome product for the consumer. Amazing job and can’t wait to see support for the F90 LCI. While we wait for unlock capabilities for the LCI F90’s can one still purchase for flashback now to help flashback other tuning like piggybacks or does it not make sense to do so?

I wouldn’t hold my breath either. If they really had the capability to do so, they would have launched it already IMO.

They claim they have more important projects but let’s be honest the first company that can crack these ECUs in the US is going to make BANK as I am sure countless of us are waiting for something besides FEMTO.

See you guys in two years. I hope I am wrong.
