Staggered or square set up wheels

Hi!

I just got a 2020 m340i xDrive.

I've researched here, and I can only find conflicting information. My vehicles came with the 18 inches m790 wheelset with the Run-flat all-season square setup. 225/45

I would like to get a staggered setup 19" M Double-spoke jet black wheels, style 791M and Michelin PS4s.

Here are the questions:

1. can I put staggered wheels or should I keep the same size but upgrade to the 19?
2. if yes what size? meaning the with ex 255, 245, 235, 225

Thank you for any info you can provide!!’

There are people who do staggered on X drive, some BMW wheel/tire setups even come staggered stock on x drive sports models. AFAIK this actually detracts from performance at higher speeds by exacerbating understeer when most BMW drivers prefer oversteer. You may see enhanced performance from stop if you have tuned the engine past where the stock 225x40 19s can take you. But you do lose the ability to rotate tires, so you'll probably be buying in sets of 2.

Main thing with x drive is to make sure to adjust the offsets so that the front and rear diameters are within 1%, or stuff could go wrong.

I just run square 19s with PS4S

thank you very much that's really helpful. Do you think $2,400 for 19" M Double-spoke jet black wheels, style 791M but they come with Pirelli all-season run-flat. that's the only wheels I have found OEM
trying to just find the wheels because I would prefer regular tires.
at the same time, I am thinking of selling the stock wheels.
