Clarity on air pressure for our cars

I have seen a few posts on here about tire pressure -- all of which have been very helpful. I have a M340i xDrive with staggered PS4S. What still isn't clear to me is why the U.S and EU models have different specs for recommemded tire pressure on the door tag. I was considering going with 39psi front and 42psi rare based on EU spec; this seems a little high when looking at U.S spec. Care to share what pressure you're using (and your car model) for a more even wear?

I think this could be very helpful considering that there is really no consensus around this topic. I want to agregate feedback here so I can try out different settings myself. Thanks

I have a US-spec car with staggered 19" summer performance tires (the Bridgestones) on my 330ix… I follow the PSI suggestion in iDrive for the 100 mph+ plus setting which is variable based upon the temp of the tires. Pretty sure the cold setting is 39/42.

My boys and I did a quick trip from NL down to Legoland Germany (between Stuttgart and Munich) this weekend. When weren't sitting in construction or other traffic jams (the Autobahn sucks in the summer), we were cruising along at 180-200kmh with ease. The tires didn't seem overly inflated or bouncy. I can't comment on tire wear because I guess the Bridgestones don't last that long. I'll be going with PS4S next spring.

I would say follow the suggested settings in iDrive and see what happens.

I recently went with a staggered aftermarket wheel and PS4S package. Here is great discussion I had over on another forum. There is an awesome XLS file that you can get from this thread...
