HMI_SHIFTLIGHTS_KOMBI_ENABLE => aktiv
PIA_SHIFTLIGHTS => aktiv
Please note, you can have them either in the Kombi OR in the HUD, not both.

G80 shift lights are not codeable with Bimmercode.
Better than nothing getting somewhere! Do you think the G80 shift lights would be replicable with E-sys?

Do you think it's possible to code this M software via bimmercode? Specifically the G80 shift lights. TYIA! I know MichaelNRW is hard at work trying to debunk the different values and differences.

Yes itīs possible with E-Sys but you would need to flash M software.
Atleast for the Kombi thereīs some downside like no display of the drive mode youīre in.

Not possible at all with Bimmercode, because you can only change values. M software need E-Sys and a flash of the Kombi/HU.

Not necesarry flash with Esys for enabling M shift lights

You can switch between them by changing the setting in the iDrive HUD menu. You need to set the view to either Sport for shift lights in the HUD or assisted driving for shift lights in the Kombi.

Another update...
Seems like one of the codings killed parts of my HUD information.
The Driving Assistant isnīt showing in the HUD anymore.
And also the navigation wonīt be shown in the HUD.
I need to check that again.

Maybe itīs the reason why my car doesnīt had shift lights, because it doesnīt work in combination with DAP. Itīs probably a bug.

If I'm not mistaken, at least for me ever since coding in the M displays only thing to ever show in the HUD was the mph/kph everything else disappeared. I've had my HUD turned off for so long so I will reactivate and double check.

Just confirmed, HUD does not display anything besides speed limit in area driven and speed of vehicle. Also coded in this with no change still no shift lights
CB_SHIFTLIGHTS => aktiv
HMI_SHIFTLIGHTS_HUD_ENABLE => aktiv
HMI_SHIFTLIGHTS_KOMBI_ENABLE => aktiv
PIA_SHIFTLIGHTS => aktiv

Very weird stuff, will post pics to reference soon.

I donīt have the M display, just the MPA 330kmh display.
Everything worked until i coded the shift lights.

My software is early, I will check tomorrow but it is a very early one as the updates were turned off day I got the car back in April of 2020. Weird that everything on yours stopped working after coding in the shift lights. This stuff seems to be very sensitive as we have seen with Wet Fish it is possible to have Shift Lights remain with M displays and other people without adding in M Track module. Weird stuff for sure.

We obviously need help :-)

I still have a problem with the HUD.
Since trying to code the shift lights my HUD neither shows any Driving Assistant nor navigation graphics.

So whatīs the things we need to do for M shift lights without loosing the DA and navigation graphics?

That could be some premade TAL file that will do the flash.
Have you check the recycle bin for the files from that zip file?
Judging by the size itīs a archive for E-Sys, PSdZData and some more.
It looks the files are for flashing kombi to firmware newer than 2019 since this is a requirement for M track module to function.

If HMI_M SWFK is flashed, you need to change in CAFD 3E52, HMI_BRAND to BMW_M. Otherwise it won't boot the HU.

Done shiftlights on G30 but with nbtevo using M track module. NbtEvo not flashed.

does Kombi refer to dash cluster?
can you get the shift lights on the dash cluster with M tacho?
for example coding M tacho means you lose the sport display on HUD so there is no shift lights on HUD but will it still show on dash?

Kombi is the dash cluster and the ECU is called DKOMBI4.
Havenīt tried that because i donīt like the M tacho.

Currently i donīt have the shift lights coded and got problems with the HUD not showing Driving Assistant or navigation graphics.
When had them coded you had to choose between shift lights in the dash cluster or in the HUD. This was controlled by the iDrive setting for sports view in the HUD. If you have sports view in HUD enabled, the shift lights will be shown only in the HUD. If itīs disabled, the shifts lights will be shown only in the dash cluster.
It wasnīt possible to have them in both like the real M cars.

I had an G82 over the weekend and made a backup of all the coding.
This could help but probably wont because of the different software.

FYI: MaximK never answered my PM.

I finally solved my issue with missing navigation and driving assistant data.
The problem was so trivial...
I had reflashed HU_MGU and DKOMBI, VO coded every ECU with the original VO and still had the issue.
Someone tried to help me and send me a video of his HUD settings with the M View active.
This was the point where i remembered i had this menue coded...
I had the M View enabled in the HUD menue and didnīt changed it back to standard before disabling the menue again.

Iīll update this thread once iīm back to my codings and can try something new.

Hi

Trying to finalize coding the shift lights I have the feeling I'm close, but not close enough 😁

Going through the pages I coded pretty much everything I could find for my 2020 M340 and here is the result

The shift lights don't appear unfortunately in any mode, if you have any suggestions they are welcome thx.

Edit:
It works I wasn't revving high enough 😅

Now what i didnīt achieved are the shift lights in the Kombi.
Neither the ones on the left/right or the G80 ones in the top area.
I found some information about this and that the shift lights are either shown in the HUD OR the Kombi, but not both.
Iīll try to disable the sports view in HUD and try it again.
See attached image.

The G80 shift lights will only work with M software on the HU_MGU.
Iīm not sure about every downside so i wont try that for now.

Another warning, i got a CEL after coding some of the values. It was a warning that the DME and DKOMBI4 couldnīt communicate.
The CEL was gone after a restart and i could clear the DTCs.
Just that youīre aware about this!
That second image. Is that the shift lights in that thin line under the ‘Sport’. Did you just code those four values in the subsequent post…

I saw you say that it can be HUD, KOMBI, but not both. So how do you turn the HUD ones off? Do I need to set the HUD_ENABLE to false?
