The alcantara does give it some warmth. Even though the material quality feels better than the M340i (G20 in general), it's not as cozy or ergonomic as the G20 BMW. The G20 is a "sport seat" away from being a perfect interior in my opinion (aside from my well documented issues with the gauges dimming ).

Had to get winter wheels/tires on already (barely got to enjoy it with the OEM 20's on summers - damn Canada). These Michelin Pilot PA4's are awesome though even on dry pavement (had them on the M340i as well). They are 265/35 /19.

Sad to see the RS5 go today, but a 2022 will be here in 3-4 months (hopefully no delays). Bought this 2020 Range Rover Velar in the meantime. First impressions...it's pretty nice. Everything looks and feels nice to the touch, and it's the R Dynamic package with the supercharged V6 so power is good as well. The infotainment sucks. Well maybe not sucks, but it is not intuitive whatsoever. I didn't even realize that I was driving around just now with my headlights off and the sunroof slightly open, until I started getting wet from the rain. Even the climate control is annoying...just reminds me how much I hate all touch interior controls. Just terrible.

Interesting, what made you go with a Range Rover and get out of the RS5 instead of just waiting for the new model?

Are you looking at getting the new rs5 when released or sticking with a suv for some time?

I have a friend in the auto industry who is more of a broker than a dealer, and he contacted me with some potential purchaser of my 2019 RS5. The guy wanted the exact spec and color I had and was willing to pay over what I paid for it back in October. He did not want to wait for a new factory build especially with the delays the auto manufacturers are experiencing. I took him up on the offer and placed an order for a 2022 RS5 in almost the exact spec as my 2019 but this is obviously the LCI version.

The Range Rover purchase was just part of the deal for the new RS5 purchase. My broker guy knew I couldn't be without a car for 4 months, so he sold me this 2020 model and they will buy it back for the same price when the RS5 is ready. It was a way to "rent" a nicer car for a low monthly fee. I'm paying next to nothing in interest so it actually works out pretty good for a few months.

Wow, sounds like you found yourself in a pretty great situation. Update us when you get the new car.

If there's one thing RR does well its make a beautiful SUV, and best of all you're experiencing it in the best way possible, short-term

Haha couldn't be further from the truth. Literally EVERYTHING looks and feels expensive, but it's like another company made the electronics and interfaces. I seriously could never own one based on that...and the whole reliability thing lol.

I hope JLR has sorted out their InTouch Control Pro infotainment now! I legally rejected my then brand new Jaguar XE-S 3.0 Supercharged in August 2016 after only four months of ownership because of constant failures and black screen crashed of its ICTP system!

It hasn't crashed on me (yet) but nothing makes sense how it's laid out, and the screens are SO laggy it makes you question if you even clicked on something (only for me to click on something else and then the screen speeds up and does both functions at once usually causing me more anger lol).

Can't wait to see the new RS5!

Where are you from in Toronto? Those houses are massive.

Still waiting unfortunately. Hopefully a late October or early November delivery but I'm not holding my breath. Good thing is that I'm saving money every month not really having to pay for the Range Rover.

I'm just west of Toronto in Milton.

I think it is a great upgrade, I really like the rims on the Audi you got, spec and all (sans the ceramic brakes, those are overkill for daily car and you too know it ).

Is there Anything you miss from 340i you wish you had on the Audi?

I've already sold the RS5 that's on my first post. I have a 2022 on order now, and did not option ceramic brakes this time

Anything I miss from the M340i? The ride quality is probably the only thing. The RS is obviously stiffer (I had adaptive suspension on both and the M340i was still much more comfortable).

Had a velar and sport for 5 years. The 2 most reliable cars I've ever owned. Infotainment is a generation or 2 behind everyone else lol

Quite a bit in the way of refinements especially the suspension and interior quality (not that it was lacking before). Everything feels just a bit tighter but I guess that's what 3 additional model years of refinements will do.
