Tire Wear Message in My BMW App
Hi All,
Does anyone know how to clear the tire wear notice from the My BMW app? BMW model is 2020 330i G20. The tires have been changed (replaced with oem tires), BMW customer support /assist team told me to go to BMW dealership to update Teleservice to show service was completed, BMW dealership did not know about feature in app or how to clear it. Looking for any advice here, thank you all! |

Mine perpetually says this. Tried all manner of things: filled to the app recommended pressure, rotated the tires, replaced the tires, filled the new tires to the app recommended pressure, app still says I need to service the rears. I've relegated to the app is nuts, and I know my tires better than it does.

They're like any other tires; they last as long as the tread on them. Depending on the warranty terms and the location of the nail, it should be covered. Most places won't patch a run flat and recommend replacing the altogether.

Just curious but has anyone that encountered this warning tried inflating the tires maybe just a couple of pounds and then resetting the tire pressure settings? Probably wouldn't change anything but can't help but wonder. I'm wondering if a change in pressure may impact the system's readings of the alleged tire wear.

I have Pirelli P7 run-flats on my 2021 M340i and at 30k miles the dealer says they are still within specs. The rears have been replaced under the BMW tire and wheel insurance (nail in one; bulge on the other) but the fronts are original.
The only wear factors I can guess are relevant is that I do a lot of highway miles, and I also ways keep them inflated just over the recommend specs. However, I hate how the P7s ride and plan to try Michelins when I need new tires. |

Never had this on mine. Follow the iDrive recommendations. I agree the app sounds nuts if there is sufficient tread depth. As much as the Germans like sticking a sensor on everything and anything. There is yet to be one invented for tread depth. I wonder if there is a countdown timer somewhere as it states schedule service. The car still wouldn’t know. A bit like pressure loss is triggered when there is a flat. I wonder if there is excessive vibration of sorts but that still wouldn’t explain an end life warning. It would be a warning for a flat or blow out. Bizarre or what?! In conclusion, worth putting the car into diagnostic mode and checking if there is a timer to reset.

Has no one figured this out? Should be a simple solution, surely..
I have four new dealer installed tires. Per the sales guy I would need to make an appt with Service to reset it… |

Had issues with this since last July. It first appeared in July and said to check the rear tyres. On visual I had plenty of wear in them. I changed all 4 in December, and they still hadn’t worn down to the TWI marker. Yet the app continued to say to check them. In Jan it disappeared on its own. Never spoke to dealer to scan them etc. Then in March it reappeared on its own again in the app to check the rears. I find the app to be glitchy on a few things

Is this mileage based I’m assuming it’s an estimate like the brake pads before the sensor trips. Some tire retailers include hazard insurance for a couple years.
