Launch control not activating

2021 RWD M340i. Tried a few times however my tires just spin...Sport Plus, shift lever in S mode, Traction off (MDM/traction button clicked once, not full DSC off), firm brakes, floor the accelerator (not sure if kickdown button is required...?) and I just get a burnout instead. Any tips?

I thought DSC had to be all the way off. Also, make sure you are pressing really hard on the brake. More than needed to hold it in place.

All of your settings seem right. Yes, the pedal has to be pressed past the kickdown detent.

-Sport +
-Traction Mode (not full DSC OFF)
-Shifter in S
-HARD on the brakes, then foot all the way down on throttle past the detent

Perhaps it's not up to temperature fully when you tried it? The manual says it needs to be warm and driving for 'an uninterrupted trip of at least 6 miles/10km.'

Press HARD on the brake pedal (as hard a you can.) Firm won't do it.

Afraid of warping my rotors

I'll try this once the weather lightens up a bit. I've mashed the brake pretty hard however, I haven't kicked it down past detent yet. Perhaps that's the issue

Unless your brakes are hot, like you just did a 100-0 panic stop, your rotors will be fine.

They only warp if they are hot.

No detent on the brake pedal, just the throttle.

I'm not positive but Ive heard that you need to drive about 5 miles or so before trying to engage the launch control. So if you're starting up the car and immediately going for a launch at the first traffic light, I don't think that will work.

If it makes you feel any better, I haven't been able engage LC on mine either the few times I've tried. I think I didn't let it fully warm up (even though the gauge said it was at normal operating temp) but the burnout was cool enough

If you are following the exact procedure and have DTC on or DSC off (either is fine), have your foot flat to the floor on the accelerator and very hard hard on the brake - like as much to the floor as you can get. Then there are a couple of other things. One the engine isn't warm enough but also there are limits to the number of times you can do launch control, either in a row or in total. It's possible the total allowable number of LC's the car is programmed to allow has been met. This limit can be removed with a tune though.
