So it turns out that the designer responsible for the G20 is Marc Michael Markefka
He also was responsible for the exterior design of the G30 5er and in more recent years the E92/93:

If you select dark enough paintwork, it might mask a lot of the poorer design elements, including the bulbous aspects of the M Sport front bumper, the plain stupid size of the front grills, and that ridiculous lower crease running along the doors Would not go near this new 3er in a light colour like silver or white

I remember when the Bangle E60 came out...Oh the howls of sacrilege and turning their back on classic BMW lines.
Now people pine for E60 lol Never will please everybody. Final verdict will be the upcoming sales figures.

Why is nobody talking about the round tires on the G20? ... I mean, WTF? Round? Just like a low rent Kia or Toyota. Until BMW comes out with a more original shape for their tires than round, I will never buy another BMW again!!

That's definitely a very thought provoking post. Now, I won't be able to look at round tires in others cars the same way ever again.

I heard the shape of the wheels outside matches the shape of the steering device inside. So unoriginal.

I like the front of the 5 and be back of the 3. Hard to tell the difference on the freeway though. They're very similar imo.

while this generation tail lights might look like a Lexus it still looks better than the e90 rear lights which looked like it came off a Kia. In my opinion the e90 was the worst looking 3er. It looked like some Korean corean when I first saw it. yes it drove wonderfully. The new 3er still is an attractive car when you compare it to the c-class and A4 so I am willing to bet most will lease or buy another me despite some of the criticism. not every 3er will be as attractive as the e46.
Be happy that BMW did a better job of it than they did with the 5er and 7serires. They really screwed the design of those vehicles. |
