Xdrive vs RWD for me comes down to
RWD: rwd more lively; better turning radius; lighter, less cost to own and maintain; 10 step MDM; “gas pedal” steering; Xdrive: better launch; front can pull the car out of sticky situations; can be switched off for drifting; Now dilemma is even harder because you comparing new vs pre owned. That rwd already took initial hit in price but did18k and you don’t know how it was treated. New car has LCI changes, new ID system and warranty, that can be extended from BMW to 7yr/100k miles. Also there is option to lease with new car if you looking to switch to next car in 3yrs. For me personally xdrive alone doesn’t warrant 142% price, but taking into account other things I would just lease a new one, and see if I want to keep it and buyout with extended warranty or move to next thing. |

If saving money is your thing I wouldn’t expect a BMW M3/M4 is the best way to go😂

Money aside, I think the real question comes down to the transmission. If you could get XDrive with a manual, then that seems pretty obvious. At least to me.
I need awd more than I need a clutch unfortunately. Life can be so unfair. |
