Laserlights retrofit

Hi
Has anyone thought about retrofitting the laserlights?

Is it plug and play with just some coding?

Laser lights is certainly not plug and play retrofit since Laser lights have selective beam and require additional controllers and optical sensors in order to work.

As an experienced software developer (with a lot of background in electronics), I would say it's almost impossible to retrofit Laser lights reliably without significant time and money investment. In fact, the cost will be ridiculous. Just check the price of a single laser headlight.

Even if you perform this retrofit with OEM parts, there is a high risk of defects and bugs that will manifest after the retrofit since the car was originally equipped with different type of headlights controller.

In short, not worth it cause I found Adaptive LEDs work great.

Laser headlights are indeed plug and play. I checked the wiring with ISTA and it is the same between all the headlight versions, which is a big step forward from all the different harnesses in the f30. If you want to retrofit them you need the headlight plus their modules.
