Winter wheel and tires sizes for the M340i?

I have a 2020 M340i xDrive with OEM 19” staggered wheels. I’m looking at sizing down for winter wheels and going with a square setup.

- Will 18” wheels even fit over the M Performance brakes? I believe OEM are 18”x8” with a +20 offset.

- Would 18”x8.5” with +20 offset wrapped in 235/45/18 or 245/40/18 work?

I'm looking at 245/35/19 square if they'll fit in the front. Alternatively I may go with OEM sizes but will personally only go with Pirelli Sottozero 3 or Michelin PA4 so depends on sizes and what actually fits. For wheels I'm leaning toward VMR V810. My car arrives in August so I won't be able to sort this out much until then. I don't think there have been many test fit wheels/tire combos at this point.

Bumping this up because I'm having a difficult time finding decent aftermarket wheel fitment with the relatively low offset OEM front wheels.

Anyone have a winter set figured out in staggered OEM spec or near to it?

Watching this thread too.

Staggered 19's PS4S's here but I have ZTK, so brakes are an issue. AFAIK, 18's will not fit if you have ZTK. I'm close to ordering wheels & tires for winter as well. I'm new to needing aftermarket wheels, but from way too many hours of research on TireRack, I'm somewhat close to going with some 225/40 R19 tires and some Flow One Race Spec 19x8.5 ET32 wheels. Those are about as close to square-OEM as I can find for a reasonable but decent looking winter-wheel setup. But I'm not 100% on the front clearance since willtheyfit calculates like 11mm closer to the suspension, which sounds awfully tight with those big front calipers...

From what others have said, front wheel offset is ET27 so ET32 with same size tire is only 5 mm closer. The rotor won't matter but the caliper might. There are only about 5 mm space between my 792M and standard M calipers. I think I'm going to go with an ET30 wheel but I don't know.

I've narrowed it down to 19x8 et30 all around with 235/40/19 tires. I'm going with MSW type 73 wheels and Pirelli Sottozero 3 tires. After measuring the OEM fitment with 792M staggered, I think you could fit a square setup with offsets between 25-35 depending on tire widths.

We actually just made a special batch of 19x8.5 ET25 V710's for our friends with G20's! Shoot me a PM and we'll see what we can work out if you're still looking for a winter setup!

Go pick up a 2012 or newer Jeep Wrangler. The BEST in the snow and the best heater in the business.

Nice choice! Let me know how those work out, especially whether the 235's rub in the front, and post some pix.

I've been looking at Enkei Raijin (19x8) and running a square setup or BBS SX's (19x8.5) and keeping staggered. Or reaching out to VMR above . But not sure about choices; 225/40's on the rear looks a little weak and 225's are too narrow for 8.5's in the front. I hadn't considered MSW, but 235/40 on 19x8 square setup for winter sounds about perfect.

I'm looking at purchasing new M340 xDrive with ZTK (which includes 791M high-performance non-RFTs (Front: 19x8.0, 225/40 R19, Rear: 19x8.5, 255/35 R19). CA and service team stated the following winter 18" wheel and tire *should be* compatible. Very interested to hear if this setup actually works as well as other winter wheels/tire options available.

M Performance 18 inch Style 796M Black Cold Weather Wheel & Tire Set - Front 36112462648

+1. The 796M's would absolutely be my #1 choice for winter rims if they'd fit. Discussing with my SA tomorrow . . .

Here the M sport brakes are standard along with 18", so I don't see why it would not fit.

Based on several conversations with BMW and other experts, the answer is either: (1) inconclusive whether this winter setup fits M340s with ZTK, or (2) due to staggered configuration and front brake size, 19" winter / AS tires (with a square setup) are the only option. The research continues.

I don't see why 18" OEM G20 wheels wouldn't fit. The big brakes on the M340i are 374mm. Even the F80 M3 with 380mm brakes can fit OEM 18" wheels.

Why don't you guys consider 18" 790M wheels if you do not have the track pack.

I am loving the ride on my M340 and they actually look pretty cool. One the best decision I made while ordering my car. I am also loving the non RFTs.

I'm hearing BMW publishes wheel and tire bulletin in late October/early November that should cover all new models, and hopefully clarify the (winter) tire/wheel options for 2020 M340s with ZTK.

Quoting myself as I just placed this order with Tire Rack. I'm going 19s because I care about the aesthetics and am not particularly worried about ride quality or flats. Total including TPMS, tax, and free shipping came to $2155.

Nice! I'll be eager to see some pix and your opinion on the setup once they arrive.

Well that was incredibly fast. One day shipping from Tire Rack NV to WA? Impressive. Glad I stuck with 19s. Shipping weight 44 lbs each if that matters.
