Very nice and accurate work.
Yes it looks weird, but I think it's a great preview.

that looks like a fuckfest of jap inspired styling. it doesnt look bad nor does it look good and thats sort of a problem. it just looks like another car on the road. nothing special about it. might aswell buy a new genesis g70. theyve caught up in so many ways and they cost alot less.

the f30 is one of the best 3 series i've ever owned as an OVERALL car. i own a 328i and damn it serves its purpose well. the e90 was the most shit model they ever produced. more people will agree with this than anything.
I agree the F30 is a great all-around car. But aside from tech it was a really half-assed effort from BMW. It feels very dated relative to the competition, especially inside. There was a steep drop off in terms of steering feedback, to the point where it didn't even feel like a BMW anymore.

Idk what your issue is with the E90. It was excellent, I still love driving mine. The steering is telepathic, the interior is higher quality than the F30, and it's styling is still very modern. When it was new it was heads and shoulders above any of its competitors. Aside from reliability costs I've never heard a negative thing about it.

You 'mirin?
styling was pre shit with e90 3 series. lci fixed the issues with styling luckily. as far as reliability i think the e90 NA rwd models are some of the most if not the most reliable bmws ever made. ive seen plenty of them hit 400k km with zero issues. id def take e90 328i over an f30 dinky characterless 4cyl 328i.

The rear looks okay, but I'm really not a fan of that front side.

This misses the mark a bit on exhausts. As I recall the 330i had round exhaust outlets on either side and the m340i had trapezoid.

Overall the render front to back isn't cohesive so I don't get much from it.

Overall I am excited to see the g20 though

Even though this is a rendering. I like everything until I got to the back. Like everyone says that is pure Lexus back end. Not a fan. I will have to wait until the final product showing.

Those fused kidneys are so hideous. I really hope BMW doesn't do that... that entire front end design looks lost.

Wow, I like it! Thoughts:

- The thin tail lights look good (compared to the new X4 where they look out of place and disproportionate to the larger body)

- The new BMW kidney grille design is executed to perfection, even with the headlights connecting to them. Perfectly proportioned without the cheesy "smile" look of the new M2 Comp or the overly large "fish mouth" look of the 8er. Don't think they will look good blacked out (sadly for the M3 crowd) due to the center touching and creating a 1-piece grille look, but they look great in the pics above.

- The notch on bottom of the headlights almost gives the illusion that the headlights are no longer touching the grilles, even though they clearly are. A crafty way to freshen up the otherwise played out F30 headlight design with its exaggerated "eyebrow" shape and connection to the grilles. A bit surprised they didn't do a totally different headlight shape, but this still looks good.

Final word: Looks fabulous. Can't wait to see how it drives!

Am I crazy or is there not enough space below the grill for front US plates?

EU plates are generally only 1/2 as tall as US plates- and there doesn't appear to be enough space for the US plate- unless the front plates will be mounted on the side.

Ni try but...

- It was not a good idea to use the car in movement (with body roll) to make a static render: the stance looks wrong (leaning left)

- The car is missing the front air breather.

- Character lines need to be crisper, and the car needs to be more "angular" as the camouflage panels soften the whole design.

Looking forward to version 2.0 ;-)

Anybody have data on the size of the G20 compared to the Fxx? I want to know if it has more interior room, specifically, and also how it compares to my car.

Or the LS even more. There was a time when BMW got a lot of heat for "Bangle" design(which I liked), but eventually other car makers began copying BMW. Lexus IS going through their "bangle" phase origami design that is quite polarizing but I predicted that other makers would copy elements eventually. It's already happening. Never thought it would be BMW.....
