Paid over MSRP for 2022 G80x
This is my first post. Not very proud to report that I paid over sticker for a almost new 2022 M3 Comp xDrive. My dilemma was:
A) I really don’t like the new LCI curved display in the 2023 model. B) Not a lot of inventory of 2022 G80 xDrives in either grey or blue out there, that i was able to find. What do you guys think: Will the new LCI curved display turn-off some buyers and force them to pursue 2022 cars? Here’s a few pics… The only saving grace is that I traded back the wife’s 2009 C4S at a great price and got sales tax credit. Still, I give myself a grade of C+ on this deal. Nobody likes to admit they paid over MSRP. The M3 Comp, as you guys know, is a great all-around. Got two full track days at Thermal Club earlier this year; it was then I knew it would be a great daily. Pretty excited about this car. Will order snow tires and plan to use the Drift Analyzer a lot this winter. Thanks guys. Cheers! |

It's your money, so doesn't matter what others think. As long as you are okay with it, enjoy your new M3. It is a great spec. The millennials will want 23 but I wouldn't worry about that.

Looks great OP. The frozen silvers/grays, are always amazing. The CCBs are always sweet. I love mine, but they're a little scary until the get warmed up. Good luck driving it in the snow. Not really much of a chance to get them hot in the winter. Hopefully road salt doesn't break down the composite rotors.
I'm good with my 22 xDrive screen setup. I wouldn't hate the 23, but I'm not really a fan of how the gauges look. Any plans for mods?

Depends on how much over MSRP u paid. The 23 model price was up by $4.2K and with the long wait and allocations, you might as well ended up paying over MSRP anyways for a 23 model if you want it sooner. Now u have a car you love and can drive it immediately

Welcome, nice ride! Like others have said, don't sweat it who cares what people think. As far as the ID8 display I think over the long term it won't matter too much.

Yea cool breaks but pricey to replace. Also and please correct me if I am wrong. I heard they need to get up to temperature for optimal performance so may not be ideal for daily driving?

In terms of longevity, they will likely outlast the ownership by the OP. |

Nothing wrong with paying over sticker if it is what you wanted. You got the car you want and you get to drive it now and not in a year.
FYI there are more '22 GT3's for sale than all G80 M3's in Socal so they are definitely in demand. |

So, I noticed that yours doesn't come with the infamous xDrive badge. Is it a RWD?
Either way, like someone already said, it's your money. You need to determine whether it was worth it or not. And even after the purchase, some may think that it was or wasn't. ~$5K over MSRP is the norm as of today for the 4 door, that is less available than it 2 door counter part M4. The car is amazing. Much more refined than my GTR, but not as "Bad Ass" looking or better sounding. It seems 90% of the post under technical questions is about making the G8x sound better. But I'm personally not a loud car guy. I put more value on performance than looks & sound; which is to say that I get a kick out of most American muscle cars w/ aftermarket exhaust accelerating; they sound fast, but when I turn, they are barely moving ***sorry for going off on a tangent***

I think it looks great and looks like its optioned out very nicely. Congrats on the purchase!
I think its hard to tell how the 22's will do vs. the 23's in the resale market longer term. I know myself as a buyer would probably not let the new dash be a decision maker for me. I could honestly live with either one, but I have no regrets about getting the 22 and not waiting for a 23.

BMW says you can just add more force and they should perform as regular brakes even in wet conditions. So I assumed they at least performed as well as regular brakes. That’s the impression bmw gives. This is good to know because I did option CCB and don’t want to rear end someone because my brakes aren’t warmed up lol. You got me a lil worried. |

If that's what you wanted and you are happy with YOUR purchase forget about it. Buyers remorse is not worth it….and too late anyways
I personally love the new curved display and all of the additional functionality that comes with it. I do however also agree that the overall look ad feel of the cabin needs to grow on me. I do have an X5 with the previous iDrive setup and i definitely also love it - there is no wrong or right here. I still own my single hump e92 M3 and the 2008 models are the ones to avoid since they had that archaic iDrive and they definitely take a resale hit in the market unless it is a unicorn. I don't think this will be the case with the G80s. |

Congrats! Looks great!
I wouldn't worry about new vs old dash. There are buyers for both, if you were to sell it. As others have stated, it's your money and your car - and your comfort level. That's all that counts. Be happy that you found one that you like and were able to get it! |

Just for anybody who may be interested. Crevier BMW in SoCal should have a 22'M3Cx available, at least two days ago. That one was mine But I took a 23' from them 2 days ago before the 22' arrives. I think it should be arriving by the end of the month.
