BimmerCode

I contacted them and received the following reply:

"I can not tell if and when the G20 will be supported"

what do you want to do with your car though?

Bimmercode seems to be still in developing state for Gxx chasis car. so the only option available here to code Gxx was through E-sys.

Get a local coder or remote coder to do it for you.

They are now showing the G20 as supported but the list of options is not very long.

Bimmercode does show the G20 as a supported car, but it’s not shown
As a selection on the connected side. Any thoughts??

Here's Bimmercode answer.

Hi,
please use the "G30" option to connect for now. This will be fixed with the next app update soon.

It’s the same right now for the X7.You have to select the G30 and then you are able to code the options you want.I coded my X7 earlier this week by selecting the G30 and it works.I coded the ASS to remember the last user setting,so if you turn it off it stays off the next time you start the car.I also coded off the seat belt chime for the front driver and passenger seats.

I successfully coded the Auto Start Stop memory function on for my 330i by selecting the G30 option, as recommended by the developer while we're waiting for the G20 option in the Bimmercode app. I used the OBDLink MX+ and an iPad.

I did follow the instructions on the Bimmercode website to the letter, making absolutely sure there were no other bluetooth connections active and disabling wifi.

There does, however, seem to be a bug in the app. The developer asked for feedback and requested I click on 'support request' in the app so he could take a look at the logs. Since doing the coding, this now causes the app to crash so maybe it's advisable to wait for an updated version? The actual coding appears to have worked perfectly though.

I too successfully coded the Auto Start Stop memory function on for my 330i by selecting the G30 option. I used the OBDLink MX+ and an iPhone 8. All went well and it was very easy. I noticed that the ASS light stays on for about 10 minutes after car is turned off. Total car shutdown seems to occur in stages over 10 minutes or so.

ASCM, ASD, and DME are the same. Rest of the ECU's are different between G20 and G30 (Pre-LCI).

Almaretto Does this piece of info apply to Esys coding only? Or are you saying if we use Bimmercode to connect to our G20 in the "G30" connection mode, the ASD programming will work? I know that connecting BC in proper G20 mode, ASD is not a supported option yet. Just trying to figure out if it can be done with the "G30" trick, or if Esys is necessary.

Thanks.

Never used Bimmercode before. But, if you can code the modules mentioned on a G30 with app, then you can with a G20.

Any update on the "bug"?

All I want is enhanced Bluetooth (sms) enabled. It's a shame that BMW advertises it as a feature that's not actually on the car.

Did you try that?
I'm wary after learning how Carly was tricking their users listing options that were not possible to code: https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1641111

I hope BimmerCode can add Active Sound coding soon.
