X3 M40i to M340i - My experience so far

I traded my 2019 X3 M40i for a 2020 M340i July build. Here is what I have experienced so far:

The Good: The car is quick! The ride is smoother than the X3 and the tech is mind-blowing. The car is VERY tail happy to the point that it feels like it needs a wider tire.

The bad: iDrive 7 doesn't have a calendar app.

Any questions post bellow

Finally +1 for LED Laser lights, many people opt out of them! The M-Performance front splitter and side skirt look nice.

The black kidney grill, black front side inserts, and carbon fiber mirror caps would complete the look. In my opinion of course..

Did you do any kind of coating? Did you get all season tires? Are they good?

RWD? Looks great with the skirts and bumper add ons! Blacking out the cerium gray would probably look really good with those too.

Congrats!

Your cars rear tires are 225's. Too narrow. The 255's are a better choice.

I did ceramic coating, the wheels I wanted are only available with all-season tires.

Have you noticed much of a size difference in the interior? I’m also contemplating switching from X3 M40i when my lease is up.

The car looks really good in that shot. Love the subtlety of that front lip. Perfect for the OEM+ look.

Anything you miss from the X3? Higher seating positing? I kinda don't like the new style of the knob and the buttons around it. It looks cheap.. But I as for know I will get a M340i Touring or an X3 M40i..

Seats are the same but the rest of the interior is a nice upgrade.

If ride is smoother on M340i, does it have adaptive suspension? Did your X3 have adaptive?

Can you opt out of that hideous looking front grill when ordering? My M3 lease is up next month and I would consider the M340 if it weren't for that stupid looking grill.

Seriously, who thought that looked good?

I'm pretty sure you can easily swap it out for the normal slat design that the 330i has and get it in chrome or all black, there's probably posts on the forum here too regarding the swap. Dealer should be able to do it for you, been seeing more and more G20's with black grills at my local dealer.

Very tail happy? As a xDrive? Wow....definitely good news to me as I want a RWD but BMW Canada doesn't offer it here. In fact, only USA market has RWD M340i.

???

M340 has 255s stock on the rear. That being said I do agree the tires are still too narrow and struggle to hookup

Not all of them. If you choose the all season run flat option you get a 225 square setup.
