330e Electric Mode - Why no coasting?

Hi there,

Any idea why BMW didn't enabled "coasting" with full electric mode?
It seems to only works with Hybrid Eco Pro.

because you are regenerating otherwise.

It is less efficient to "use then regenerate" than to coast.
This is why Hybrid Eco Pro uses coasting on highways/free road instead of regen.
The same for other EV cars. They always prefer "coasting" to "regen" when running on highways.

Maybe BMW only thinks people will use full Electric mode in the city.

Not sure, but it seems to be available via coding for even non hybrids in comfort mode.

This was originally touted as a feature.. it's still on the G20 wiki...

Engine coasting is also now available in both Eco Pro and Comfort modes...
I would challenge that plenty of other EVs do default to regen at highway speeds. Especially those that push 1 pedal driving experiences.

Eco Pro does coast on Eletric when on Highway, so I assume it is more efficient.
