[QUOTE=Davidbmwdd;30219987]So can anyone elaborate why my2025 it is worth the wait with no major changes in engine and no major changes in interior( still id8 no 8.5
Or 9) and no changes in exterior( maybe rear lights?)

What makes you think it won't get id8.5? It's pretty much guaranteed it will get 8.5 when car is released.

New engine variant. The TU was the updated engine they put in the supra.

It has:
-a split cooling system with 2 water pumps and a pressure releif valve on both
-1 peice timing chain, as opposed to 2
-Updated Vanos gears
-New fueling including the pump that is a decent upgrade path for the B58B30M0/M1/C/O1 engines (prior to technical update)
-Lighter crankshaft
-Cylinder head/exhaust manifold integration

There are no plans for the current G20's to get iD8.5, have not heard anything about the 2025's but image they will.

Any updated additional info on some other changes?Just wondering if there might be some new colors.Do you also see anything regarding the optional m compound brakes and quad exhaust tips that the new X2 is getting? It would be great if the M340i was also available with those options.

Your dealer lied. I have a ‘24 M440- it has iD8. The ‘24 M340’s that were on the lot also had iD8.

I think he was just mistaken. He told me this in June when BMW had just announced 8.5. Their original messaging about the models it would be on was not very clear.

In any case, I can confirm i took delivery of my 2024 with iDrive 8 a couple weeks ago.

Tu2 will have port injectors as well as direct injections. The heat exchanger is also aluminum.

So better fueling and better cooling from my understanding. I would wait for tu2 if I was considering to buy it

Nice. I feel like Vanos and single timing change is much needed for these.

Is the updated interior only coming to US, not Canada?

Trying to decide if I shall buy a 340 from the lot this year🤣

It will be all markets.BMW isn’t going to update the interior just for the US.It would be great if we could get a leaked pic of a test car with the new interior.I’m hoping with them updating the interior that they have heard the feedback and will add back in the traditional shift knob. That stubby thing is really the only feature i dislike in the interior of the current car.

That’s never happening sadly.

They are using nudge theory with the shifter select, so that when in the future you move to their electric cars, it looks and feels the same

The engines mentioned in this original post will get a mild hybrid system, in which the electric motor is integrated into the ZF 8-speed transmission. This allows the electric motor to boost the system power/torque a bit - hence the small increases which have been noted. The earlier mild system which BMW uses/used has the motor attached to the ICE and used an earlier generation of the ZF transmission. The 330i engine will probably also adopt a Miller Cycle combustion system. These changes (i.e. addition of 48V mild hybridisation) are similar to those recently announced for the 4-Series in the USA.

Just curious cause I've never known, how do you find info like this? Do they announce anything on the internet and such? Thanks!

There are always leaks and announcements that are covered by various online entities. There is a lot of fake stuff also as clickbait but after awhile you can spot that fairly easily.

The best source for production information is our future model info thread, ynguldyn does an amazing job.

Does anyone know when the order books will open for the 2025 refresh going into production in July? I was going to place an order that would see production in May, but am now waiting until I can place an order for a 2025 so I catch the refresh. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. I would guess mid-May to early June.
