Coding cruise control minimum speed

Hi there,

is it possible to reduce the minimum speed to activate the cruice control?
This was possible in the ICM ECU of my F30 but i couldnīt find any parameters like that in my G21.

Example for the F30
ICM -> 3000 -> C_Wunschgeschw_min_kmh

kind regards
Michael

Info for others.
The problem seems to be the Driving Assistant Professional.
This makes coding around driving features almost impossible, because itīs very restrictive.
G20s withouth DAP should be able to code the minimum speed in the DSC3 and SAS2 ECU.
C_Wunschgeschw_min_kmh = 14 (= 20kmh)
C_Wunschgeschw_min_mph = 0C (= 20kmh)
C_SLD_vmin_kmh = 14 (= 20kmh)

While the G20s with DAP have the DSC_BRS, DSC_VIP_IB4 and SAS3 ECUs which donīt have any comparing values.

I don't fully understand in what scenario you have the problem. Do you have a need to have the cruising speed lower than 30km/h or is it the activation at lower speed you have a problem with?

I only have the Driver Assist (not Pro) with the Stop & Go CC. The minimum cruising speed to set is 30km/h but I can activate the Stop & Go function at standstill. Only if the distance to the car in front is too short, it won't let me.

Yes.
In germany we have zones with 10 or 20 km/h where this is very helpful.

MichaelNRW I don't have DAP. Can you confirm if the below coding you mentioned works and what you ended up coding it to?

C_Wunschgeschw_min_kmh = 14 (= 20kmh)
C_Wunschgeschw_min_mph = 0C (= 20kmh)
C_SLD_vmin_kmh = 14 (= 20kmh)

I have dynamic cruise control (no ACC) would like my cruise control to activate at 10 mph to work in stop and go traffic, but I don't know what 0C means.

Also, I would the car to slow down during curves by itself. People mentioned dynamic cruise control already has this, don't need ACC for the car to slow down in curves if the yaw sensor thinks its going too fast?

I canīt test that coding because my car has the Driving Assistant Professional with different ECUs.

0C is HEX and means 12 mph.
If you want 10mph you would need to code 0A for the mph value and 10 for the kmh values.
Code:
C_Wunschgeschw_min_kmh = 10 (= 10mph/16kmh)
C_Wunschgeschw_min_mph = 0A (= 10mph/16kmh)
C_SLD_vmin_kmh = 10 (= 10mph/16kmh)
I know itīs an option for the DAP but i donīt know if itīs available for DCC aswell.
Itīs something like "foresighted driving" but thatīs directly translated from german and could be wrong.

MichaelNRW Thank you. Do you know if you are able to change the distance for forward collision warning detection as well on expert mode?

Sorry, no idea.

No, it only works above 29 km/h.
When passing a 10 or 20 speed sign a message will be shown that the DA canīt use this speed.
aSLA works in Germany without coding, just not under 30 km/h :-(

Were you able to get BimmerUtility to work? Bimmercode disabled all driver assist changes so I have to use BU. I'm not able to find where in BU to adjust cruise control min speed, blind spot min speed

Itīs not possible for cars with SAS3.

When I plugged in BimmerUtility it showed the min speed settings in the app (Lane Keep activation speed, etc). Are you saying we can only read those settings, but can't modify them? Which model years have SAS3? I thought you were able to modify the min cruise control speed on your vehicle?

Blind spot minimum cruise speed is on every Bimmercode/Carly documentation. When did they get rid of it?

I didnīt modified it because my car has the SAS3 equipped.
If your car has the SAS2 it might be possible.
You can see it when connecting with BimmerUtility as itīs the name of the ECU.

I havenīt looked for the minimum speed for the lane change assistant, just for the minimum speed for the cruise control.

I have KAFAS4 and SAS2 and DME2 (just driver assist no ACC) so maybe it will work. Do you know why BMW would prevent newer models from lowering the min speed of cruise control? Since newer ACC uses electronic braking to cruise below 20 mph, I don't think its a limitation of the computer but BMW legal fears of people accidentally activating cruise control at stop lights? I think its a nice to be able to activate the cruise sooner

Atleast in the EU a car manufacturer is obligated to secure any system that assists the driver or drivers automatically.
You can activate cruise control with DAP while standing, but the minimum speed is 30 kmh.

With SAS2 you can try the parameters described before.
Quote:
C_Wunschgeschw_min_kmh = 14 (= 20kmh)
C_Wunschgeschw_min_mph = 0C (= 20kmh)
C_SLD_vmin_kmh = 14 (= 20kmh)

In the US, DAP is very rare on BMWs on the lots, so unless you custom build with Premium Pkg, you cannot get DAP on 3/4/x3/4 20/30i, though now with more used 2019-2022 online its becoming easier to find, but mostly with M sport pkg which I didn't want. Locking driver assist down from coding and retrofits is even a bigger wrench to owners

My average speed in traffic is a steady 15-25 mph so most of the time the blind spot monitor, cruise control, and lane departure warning assist (not the fancier lane change assist on DAP) don't even turn on. Since I have KAFAS4 ECU, I changed LDW speed to vibrate at 25mph, it saves me in traffic curves from side swiping others. Now i need to change SAS2 blind spot monitor to vibrate at 5 mph and cruise control to turn on at 12 mph so I can sort of have less mentally draining automated traffic without the cost of DAP. I'm just hesitant because I haven't found anyone who succeeded this coding with SAS2 and any possible after effects voiding the factory warranty. After I get all warranty repairs done in the next 25k miles, I'll consider this coding, hopefully by then someone else would also attempt before me.

Hey There,
Do you know if there is any possibility to enable the lane assist before 40MPH?

Mine is a G20 2024 with DAP and would like to know if we can change the lane assist minimum speed?

Thanks.
