I've a 2021 G21 330e and I would normally get a stage 1 tune remap. But as most people know, the ECU is encrypted and I'm prepared to wait another 12 months to see if any other tuners will have an unlock solution without me having to send the ECU to Femto in Finland to be unlocked. In the mean time I'm looking at piggyback tuning boxes. Can anyone offer their personal experience with these.. I'm looking at Racechip, Blue spark, and JB4. In aware a remap is a better option and gives better gains. But it's not an option for me at the moment.

I know you don't want to send to Femto, but downtime is approx 1 week. I sent mine out on a Friday (from US), and had it back in my hands the next Friday.

The JB4 is the most complete tuner.

For a stage 1 application, you probably won't use all its extra features, so if you'd rather get a simpler solution with less features but easier install, the racechip is a good alternative option

power rise, on stage 1 its going to be very similar with either one

Thanks for the response. I would take any of the power gains these companies say with a pinch of salt. But I'm guessing an additional 50-70nm in torque and around 50bhp would be in the ballpark?

i have never tested the e models, but these kinds of power gains are certainly achievable with the regular models

Racechip has a discount available at the moment. The GTS5 for €404 plus delivery. And app control is an additional €59. Is app control worth it?

I'm 50/50 on purchasing a racechip box with today being the last day of the sale price. Part of me wants to wait and see if there will a breakthrough in breaking the ecu encryption in 2025...
