Thank you! You must have been posting this when I was replying to another message. Just popped up on refresh. I'll give your file a look and compare how I can improve or change mine to perform better. Hoping to learn from your configuration for future reference.

You're also welcome to the files in there although they are for the G30 and aren't configured for having the MEC installed. They are mostly the base tunes provided to me, except the ones with modified in the name.

What under-seat subs are recommended to use along with the AlphaOne amp/dsp? Just installed the amp and working on tuning but I’m quickly learning the BMW HK subs just won’t do it. I’d rather not go with a box in the truck, just keep things located where they are. Any input is appreciated

I went with these but it's really up to your own taste and how far you want to go with upgrading your system. Also...Your budget.

They aren't bad if you cut them off at 40Hz. Not a lot of songs go below that

I had them crossed at 60hz and still found them to have audible distortion at 85-90db listening volume.

I went with Stereo Integrity TM8's but they are not a direct fit.

These Helix shallow subs are direct replacements with the correct adapter. They will provide a huge improvement over the factory subs.

I don't have any distortion plots but I can get them pretty crispy. I know the rear speakers get very distorted though. I have the system balance all the way forward. Mine are 50Hz to 200Hz with 24dB slopes

The 4 series has less room under the seats than the 3.
I bought these adapters
https://www.ebay.com/itm/18608836934...mis&media=COPY
Installed them upside down and they worked. Problem is getting the factory grills back on. The TM8’s sit too high to clear the grill.

They sound fantastic though.

I think it's worth doing without the protective grille, given the location, there's no risk.
The upside-down installation is a good idea. The woofer is out of the box.
Do these adapters fit the factory screw locations?
Is the assembly well sealed?

Due to the space limitations, the under seat enclosure is open on the bottom and sealed to the car with a gasket material. I added soundskinz to the opening where the cars metal floor was exposed. It is vented into the left and right rocker area. I believe the 3 series enclosures are sealed on the bottom.

The adapter fits perfectly. Just drill pilot holes to avoid splitting the MDF. I also cut soundskinz to serve as gaskets below the adapter and under the speaker flange.

I have zero resonance from the under seat speakers.

Morel IR-BMW42's for the front and rear. Placed an order today for a pair of TM8's from Stereo Integrity. Underseat enclosure spacers, and finally a bunch of panel clips since I've heard they break easily.

Gonna need a weekend to get this done!
I'm debating using the IRs front and rear too. Or maybe just front doors and center, and then the IPs for rear doors and deck. Was it worth getting the IRs for the rear doors too or would you use the IPs or HKs in retrospect?

What LPF are you using on the doors? I read the IR's can hit 50hz versus the IPs that only go to 80 I think, so that alone should mean more bass coming from the sides...

The IR’s are fantastic. I have them in the doors and rears. I turned the deck surround speakers off. I also don’t use the center channel.
I forget what I crossed the doors at but it was lower than 200 to achieve a 200hz acoustic crossover. They meet the underseats at 200 very nicely.

I have the rears turned down 5db’s and delayed for rear fill. The IR’s are definitely overkill.

I was going to start with a HP at 50 and LP 150 for from front 3 IRs’ handoff to the under seats. Starting with just the front sound stage (doors + center), but I’m going to try the -5db idea for the rear channels.

In that case maybe I’ll try the IPs if I swap out the rear doors and deck next. Thanks for the feedback!

Are you running front doors completely active? Or are you saying you will low pass the underseats at 150?

I would love to hear the IR’s but can’t find any place near me that have them on a sound board in store, or a demo car. I’m like 1 hour from Crutchfield, however they don’t have any of the Focal or Morel pnp’s to demo.

Have any of you guys heard the Focal ES100ke’s? I have a set of those that I was going to throw in the front doors, but I don’t know If I want to deal with trying to find someone to 3D print mounting brackets, and hiding the large crossovers.

Thought about making the front doors active, but can’t find anyone in my area that has run additional wires to the doors and added additional pins to the factory door connector(harness).

Sorry, I did rush those numbers. Under seat Ci5s definitely low passed at 150. Then the UP10 has separate amps for the front highs and lows, so HPF on the woofers at 50, and then maybe a low pass on them at 1600 since that will be the tweeters' HPF? Or maybe just skip a LPF on them entirely since they can play up to 4200? Here's what I have so far:

Crossovers
Front L and R High --> HPF - 1600
Front L and R Low --> HPF - 50, LPF - 1600
Rear L and R Full --> HPF - 150 (maybe 120 per ATF spec)
Front Center High --> HPF - 1600
Front Center Low --> HPF - 50, LPF - 1600
Subwoofer 1 and 2 --> HPF - 20, LPF - 150
Line Out 1 (trunk subs) --> HPF - 18, LPF - 80

Gains
Rear L & R Full —> -5db
Subwoofer 1+2 —> +3db
Line Out 1 —> +3db

Processing
Dynamic Bass Enhancement - Enabled (6db at 35hz)
SubXpander - ***Disabled*** (awful)
RealCenter - Enabled
ClarityXpander - Dynamic

Wow. So your vehicle came from the factory with seperate channels for the front door 4in and tweeters? Did your car come with BW audio from factory?

Just the HK system. The ATF PC-Tool shows the separate amps here tho:

Just checked, and those channel names are completely off. The center and door woofer + tweeter combos do indeed use the same amps. Not sure how that happened in the PC-Tool. Maybe that was a default config. So only the 50hz HPF on the doors and center channels it is. Looking like this now:

Front L High and Low —> HPF - 50
Front R High and Low —> HPF - 50

Rear L High and Low —> HPF - 150
Rear R High and Low —> HPF - 150

Center High and Low —> HPF - 50

Rear Fill L —> HPF - 150
Rear Fill R —> HPF - 150

Subwoofer 1 and 2 —> HPF - 20, LPF - 150
Line Out 1 —> HPF - 18, LPF - 80

ETA: I see what happened now. Somehow Virtual Processing mode was creating wrong channel names. Think I’m squared away, but that software is confusing. Any reason it wouldn’t go to 18hz on a HPF?
