M440i in the Garage
Fourth Beemer and drove the last one well overdue it's change date as I waited for the 4 series to be released. I was however very indifferent about the design when I first saw the reviews, was going to go back to m340i but ordered the m440i instead. Main reason for the decision was the strong driving reviews from the UK and at the end of the day I like to be different as you can tell by the batcave in the background (in essence I don't like my neighbours lol). Surprisingly most people that see the car comment on how much they like the grill - go figure! (they are non Beemer ppl). Had the car for over a month now - if anybody has any questions reach out, happy to help any fellow Aussies on honest daily driving feedback. Glad I did it - epic cruiser and more practical than Full blown M equivalents IMO for daily drives - they can be harsh after a while!
If anybody has any questions on the M135i I can also answer as have had that daily for over twelve months now when released. |

Looking good CJ2151.
Love the seats! The grill is growing on me, and I’m sure this will continue to do so as time goes on and I see more on the road. To be honest, I thought the grill on the G20 was too big the first time I saw it, much bigger than my previous F30, but it also has grown on me. A case of familiarity breeding appreciation!

Cant go wrong with some new BMW metal!
I dont love the grill and I cant put my finger exactly on why I dont like it. I think it's BMWs first iteration of it and it needs some depth I think. It's a bit flat and I think would work better on other designs. Audi and Lexus do their gaping mouth grill and it looks fine but they have been finessing their big grills for sometime. I remember when Audi first started doing it and it was just bad. Looked like a wombat. |
